searching blog comments?

I'm trying to search for comments I've made on other people's blogs, using the "blog comments" checkbox under Advanced Search, but all I get are my own blog entries.
 
Have you tried Advanced Search -> Search Single Content Type -> Blog Comments -> Username: Geodude -> Comments by: Exact Name?
 
Yep, as I said, the only results are my own blog "threads" for some reason.

edit: Wait, I thought I was going under "single content type" but I wasn't. That works, but the exact same settings under Multiple Content Types don't.
