Season 18 Given Subtitle on iTunes: "Pokémon the Series: XY Kalos Quest"

It was recently noticed on iTunes UK that Season 18 was made available for download.

But what was even more interesting was the subtitle given to the season; "Pokémon the Series: XY Kalos Quest".

It was also noticed that there is a placeholder on iTunes US for Season 18 under with the exact same subtitle.

Season 18 was never given a subtitle in the English Dub intro or even on pokemon.com which could lead to a little confusion when trying to differentiate between it and Season 17. Will this subtitle be implemented in other formats, like future DVD releases or television listings?

Really happy they decided to give Season 18 a subtitle. Makes things much easier for me, although I wish they had done it earlier. It would be nice if they could add one to Season 17 too (since "Pokemon the Series: XY" is the series, as well as Season 17 for now). I thought we'd have to wait for the Beyond Home Entertainment DVD announcement before we got this, but this is fine too.

The opening "You're just a kid on a quest" line in this season's theme perhaps also a reference to the intended subtitle? Though I suppose the more logical 'Pokemon Heroes' was already taken.

It makes for it being very inconsistent given that they don't put the subtitles of the Hoenn openings on those listings, but have done it for the Kalos one that doesn't reference it in the actual episodes.

Certainly annoyed that they couldn't have this available straight away when the season started, but glad that they've eventually added it. If it's going to be arbitrarily delayed it would be nice if they could at least mention that they are coming soon and they haven't just totally given up on releasing the episodes on iTunes.

I think that the subtitle will only be used on listings that wouldn't make sense if 2 seasons would have the same name, I don't think TPCi will use it.

But one can dream right? It would be nice if the subtitle would debut with a new version of the opening based on Getter ban ban.

For some reason they've split the volume after 11 episodes, putting episode 12 of 'Kalos Quest' into Volume 2. There's nothing that I'm aware of that mentions how long the 2nd volume is planned to last - but maybe we're not getting a 48 episode season this time around?

Kalos Quest sounds like a nice season title. It would have been nice if that was used for the dub, but it make sense that they'd have something to separate it from season seventeen on iTunes.
