Season 9 fansub discussion

Anyway, SOVA's decided to do a fansub (not fandub) of season 9 starting after Pasta La Vista and ending at the last episode of Battle Frontier. This thread is for discussion of the fandub we're planning to do.

First things first. Does anyone have the raw (Japanese without subtitles) and/or dubbed (TAJ version) episode of Fear Factor Phony? .wmv and .avi formats are requested, if possible.

Pikachu probably won't need subtitles. *thwacked* Maybe Yellow could go to Misty, Tracey, Gary, Richie, Gym Leaders, etc. and black could go to the "random character of the episode"? Black outlines will be used around the subtitles to ensure their clarity.

Ah, maybe the black could be used for little translation notes. If not, then grey. I really like grey subtitles....

A fansub for people who want them is fine. But in my case, it's not really necessary. For about three years now, I have watched every episode raw about a year before it airs here in the US and I can easily understand what's going on. If someone understands how the Pokemon Anime works and knows even just a few words in Japanese, it shouldn't be a problem understanding the general plot. Still, if you plan going through with fansubs, I recommend keeping an open mind to pre Battle Frontier subs as well.

Anyway, there is some information that I think is important to post. I would do it in the SOVA thread, but I think this is an even better place to put it. It's from Veroica Taylor in her guestbook. The first part addresses very nasty personal attacks some have made against Sarah Natochenny, but the rest of her statement is paramount to the SOVA campaign.

You people have been simply TERRIBLE to Sarah, you all ought to be ashamed. Yes she replaced my role, but she has has done nothing to deserve such awful treatment. I will be removing all the rude posts.

And while I'm at it, I'd like to thank SOVA for all the hard work they have done, It's been almost a whole year and we have no intentions of returning to work on the Pokemon anime. It has been hard for all of us but the time has come to move on we have all spent enough time on this. We can't spend the rest of our lives fighting. We will forever be greatful to the fans for all the lovely support. And you can look forward to hearing all of us on more of your favorite shows in the future.
