Seeking advice - my competitive team?

Even though I've been playing pokemon for a long time, I only recently started doing competitive battles, so you might as well consider me a newbie. I don't know how things are done in rated battles, and I get easily pwned in free battles as well. Still, I think I'm doing well relatively against passerbys. I want to know if my choices are good, and whether I should use other pokemons.

*Note: I made it a rule not to use any legendaries, so no legendaries please. I personally, really hate Dragons (especially Garchomp), but if it seems that I should include a Dragon-type for coverage, I'll take it into consideration (probably won't use them, though).

1. Froslass
Timid Nature/Snow Cloak
Focus Sash
Max EV'd in Special Attack and Speed. The remaining went to HP.
-Blizzard
-Shadow Ball
-Destiny Bond
-Hail

2. Umbreon
Mild Nature/Synchronize
Sitrus Berry
Max EV'd in Defense and Special Defense. The remaining went to HP.
-Moonlight
-Dark Pulse
-Toxic
-Substitute

3. Empoleon
Quiet Nature/Torrent
Yatapi Berry
Max EV'd in HP and Special Attack. The remaining went to Special Defense
-Surf
-Luster Cannon
-Grass Knot
-Aqua Jet

4. Aerodactyl
Jolly Nature/Pressure
Mega Stone for Aerodactyl
Max EV'd in Attack and Speed. The remaining went to Special Defense
-Stone Edge
-Thunder Fang
-Earthquake
-Sky Drop (Due to weight limits introduced in Gen6, I'm considering changing this)

5. Gallade
Timid Nature/Justified
White Herb
Max EV'd in Attack and Speed. The rest went to Special Defense.
-Leaf Blade
-Night Slash
-Psycho Cut
-Close Combat

6. Volcarona
Gentle Nature/Flame Body
Leftovers
Max EV'd in Special Attack and Speed. The rest went to Special Defense
-Quiver Dance
-Hurricane
-Bug Buzz
-Fiery Dance

Back-ups (I occasionally rotate them)
Aggron
Lax Nature/Rock Head
Mega Stone for Aggron
Max EV'd in Attack and Defense. The rest goes to HP
-Metal Burst
-Earthquake
-Head Smash
-Heavy Slam

Braviary
Adamant Nature/Defiant
Life Orb
Max EV'd in Attack and Speed. The rest went to Defense.
-Defog
-Super Power
-Brave Bird
-U-turn

The team shares some common weaknesses, half Rock and 2/6 weak to Flying, which means Stealth Rock and Talonflame (which is fairly common) will cause you some trouble. You can make Aggron a permanent member to help with that, or add in some bulky Water types as they provide some good general defense. Some of the natures aren't beneficial, sometimes negative even, that you would have to breed for proper natures to make the most of the team.

- Froslass is too frail to set up Hail + Blizzard so you'll be better off using Spikes + Ice Beam. Spikes will let you do some damage in the long run while Ice Beam is a STAB 100% accuracy move that doesn't rely on Hail (which hurts the rest of your team).
- Replace Sitrus Berry for Leftovers so that you get more recovery with Umbreon. Try to give it a more beneficial nature for its defenses as Mild raises its low Sp. Attack and lowers its high Defense. Maximize HP to make the most of Moonlight and Leftovers, and focus on maximizing Sp. Defense.
- Try to place Substitute on Empoleon to make up for its Speed and to safely activate the Yatapi Berry. A Modest nature would help boost its Sp. Attack as well.
- Stone Edge and Earthquake don't get the damage boost from Tough Claws so think of replacing them with Crunch, Iron Head, or an elemental fang. You can replace Sky Drop with Aerial Ace.
- White Herb only works for Close Combat so the item slot isn't being fully utilized here. A Choice item can give Gallade some sweeping power, Choice Band lets it hit hard while a Choice Scarf will allow you to outspeed most things. A Timid Nature weakens its Attack so consider replacing it (either Adamant/Jolly)
- Standard Volcarona set so not much to say except try for a Timid/Modest nature.
- Focus on maximizing Aggron's HP over its already high Defense to give you more survivability. The nature works against its Sp. Defense which might give special attackers the extra bit of damage to OHKO it.
- Sheer Force negates the recoil from Life Orb so you can consider using that, but Defiant has its uses as well (vs. Intimidate or other moves)

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Agreeing with everything shark said. As a rule of thumb, always invest in HP before either defense. Choices Gallade could be good, but my favorite set is

Gallade @ Leftovers
Justified
Careful
240 HP/212 Sp Def/56 Speed
~Bulk Up
~Psycho Cut/Ice Punch
~Drain Punch
~Shadow Sneak/Ice Punch

I guess I'll go with Aggron being the permanent member.

As for Water, I have a Samurott I'm currently in-training.
Rash Nature/Torrent
No items yet, but I used to attach her a Water Gem in Black2
Max EV'd in Special Attack. Didn't choose the second EV to max out yet
-Hydro Cannon
-X-Scissor
-Ice beam
-Surf

Do you think Samurott would be good on the team?

Gee, looks like I got some breeding to do. Thanks for the advice!

Looks pretty bulky. My Gallade dies pretty early, so maybe I should consider this as well. I think I'll add in Shadow Sneak for Gallade since it'll help him get rid of Ghost types. Thank you!

Adamant Aero is better. You really dont need the mad fast speed. You do however need icefang to kill mega garchomp in 1shot. Get enough iv to cover 130speed jolly mons and shove rest in hp.

Oh, right, I forgot about Ice Fang. Thanks!

Samurott is bad in general, Hydro Cannon is bad in general, Hydro Cannon on Samurott shouldn't be used on even an in-game team. :p For your bulky water you want a Rotom Wash.
