Recently, there has been much complaining in the chat, as well as on some BulbaJournals, about users who join and inflate their postcount with stupid games(The One Above, SQSA, Guess the Next Poster, etc). Going through the New Posts a few minutes ago, I began to understand exactly what all this complaining meant- of the first 25 on the first (of three) pages, nearly all were Fun, Clubs, and Games, and most were games of some kind.

Is there some way to make a forum separate from a Clubs forum where games are played and don't count towards postcounts? I think this could reduce some of the abuse of the Games towards postcounts as well as make things easier for us Club members looking to post to a club that's been dormant for a while (I had to wade through 2 pages of random games just to find the Sebastian Fan Club to post a link to our new social group.)

Thanks for your consideration.

EDIT: I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that I am biased in no way against the games, having been one of the most avid posters to Ask a Stupid Question, Get a Stupid Answer in its heyday 3 years ago, and still occasionally posting to some of the games now. But come on. This is getting outrageous.

Yeah, I notice that too. I see a user who just joins, and not even a month later he has like 5000 posts or something. And guess where they all come from.

I agree with what you're saying Neku completely and totally.

Thirded.

I've seen it done elsewhere. Posts in one forum don't add to post count. Would defo be good here.

I'll admit it: many of my posts came from the Games forum. But I definitely agree with the others--it seems silly that posts there contribute towards our post counts, and it also does make it hard to find the Clubs. I think reorganizing things in the way Neku suggested would probably be a good idea.

Multiplied to the power of three.

In other words, I agree. :p

I hardly ever post in the games forum and I wouldn't mind if it didn't exist, but it's popular with others and I wouldn't want to ruin their fun. Postcounts never meant anything, but locking postcounts in the offtopic section and gaming sections seem to be obvious things to do. I hope this actually happens.

High postcounts should never be used as a sign of leetness.

No, but certain noobs [name deleted] seem to think so. Which is the problem.

But yeah. Better to have 500 GOOD posts rather than 5000 stupid ones.

Play nice.

I think it's a really good idea, I think post counts should be for discussion only.

I have a minor complaint.

Why are sigs turned off in the Clubs forum now?
