Serebii.net reports first Mystery Dungeon 3 details: New game — one version — purportedly ...

Serebii.net has reported that Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 3 will have only one version called Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers the Sky.

PMD2's third version, or are there two and the second hasn't been revealed yet?

Whichever it is, I'll be happy with it. I've been wanting to replay the Explorers story anyway, but didn't get Darkness for Christmas and refuse to restart Time.

Hopefully we can get another character like Grovyle or see whatever he's doing after what happened in PMD2. The endings are always so good!

Unless they pull a deus ex, Grovyle died.

Maybe its for the Wii and that's why there's only one?

I do remember there being a rumor that MD3 was for the Wii. This latest news about there being only one version of MD3 does seem to fall in line with that line of thinking.

They're releasing 3 already? Wow, talk about fast.

It would be kinda hard to do this on the wii, unless they change how you play the whole game.

It would probably be like Digimon World 2 (or was it 3?) that was basically the same principle.

So then its a 3rd version to the duo a possible continuation and it has grovyle in it. Ok then this will be ineresting stuff and the forms better be in along with arceus.

Ah, just let him keep believing everything comes from that one little blogger who just posts things he finds on 2ch. :p

Funny: The Spanish tards finally realize everything comes from 2ch and the great WPM - who often doesn't mention sources himself - insists on it coming from blue sky. (Actually I believed WPM knew better than that.)
Now, for a couple months or so even blue sky has been posting links to the 2ch threads where he finds his info.
As I said just minutes ago in the IRC, I remember stating that 2ch is the real source for these things long ago while blue sky wasn't referring to 2ch yet - but nobody really cared. o.o Why care now?

I'm refusing to link to 2ch because there is a lot of shit (as in, offensive picture links and the like) being posted there as well. Filb.de had received complaints in the days of when such pictures were found on the Imaroda image board - which likely just had reposts from 2ch anyway, but nobody knew back then. Those complaints came to us because of offensive images posted there.
But I do link to blue sky in case his posts helped me translate the info from the photos and scans.

Another reason to probably not bother about 2ch is the fact that the images posted there mostly are uploaded at little file hosting sites which only keep a certain number of recently uploaded files and delete older ones. As a result, the picture links posted there are dead after just roughly eight hours. When I saw the image from yesterday on blue sky last night (which by the way is completely unrelated to Mystery Dungeon), the picture link on 2ch was dead already. The two photos from today disappeared shortly after I found them.

If by rumor you mean rampant speculation or plain wishful thinking, then yes, there was some chatter to that effect. I fail to see how that has any bearing on reality.

Low-resolution scans are now available and confirm the purported information. There will only be one DS version whose title is "Explorers of the Sky"; it is supposed to be a sequel of the previous two versions. But the re-appearance of Grovyle and the fact that this game is obviously a take on the main series' third games, lead me to believe that an alternate timeline (be it an explicit or implicit one) is involved.

Nor am I a slave whose command it is to provide you information and make sure that you receive it.

It is also common knowledge among frequent Internet users that if a hyperlinked URL generates an error, copying and pasting it might solve the problem.
