Contest Serperior VS. Samurott

When the starters were revealed , Oshawott turned out to be the least popular while Snivy is the most popular so Oshawott was overshadowed by Snivy . Since the games were released , the final forms were confirmed , some people expected Samurott to redeem Oshawott and to get out of Snivy's shadow.

Can Samurott dethrone Serperior or be overshadowed by him like when they were on their 1st forms?

Both are compared because :

• Both are fully-evolved Unova starters.

• Both are portrayed as proud and intimidating Pokemon.

• Both are the only fully-evolved starters who can't learn Earthquake.

• Both have a 528 BST.

• Both have moves that are often associated with them(Leaf Tornado and Razor Shell) and their pre-evolutions.

1. I like Serperior more. It has unique stats & is more challenging to train.

Anyway, Serperior takes all 4 questions. I'm a fan of Samurott, liking all but its name--I'm probably the biggest advocate for it in competitive play. Serperior just rocks, and boasts a set I have yet to whip out--and is ultimately my second favorite pokemon.

I think that they're pretty equal by design - Serperior has this regal, haughty look to it while Samurott is an otter/shogun hybrid with an epic beard. Serperior's pre-evolutions are both all right, but Samurott's are more of a mixed bag - Oshawott just confuses me, but Dewott is completely awesome. Why Samurott isn't a Steel-type is beyond me, though - it would make more sense for Empoleon to be part Ice as a Penguin and for Samurott to be part Steel with his motif, but that's an argument for another thread. In the end, I tend to swing toward Samurott just due to its awesome motif.

I wish that we could see Samurott standing upright and using its shell-sword in more than the single piece of official art I've seen. That would only solidify its status as BA.

Also to clarify, Samurott can defeat Serperior just as easily as Serperior can defeat Samurott.

...So naturally since I like Samurott because its just so bad ass, it will get my vote.

Oshawott is adorable. Screw the heartless haters. >:C Dewott has a great design and attitude. Probably my favorite middle staged starter next to Marshtomp. Snivy never appealed to me. And the meme is annoying. Servine is okay though.

Probably Serperior since its faster. But I like Samurott more. :]

Who do you like better?
Samurott, mainly because it's a Water-type starter. I just can't say no. I also really, REALLy dislike Serperior, for reasons I've never been able to fully explain.
Who looks better?
Samurott. My second-favorite design of Gen V, after Braviary. I still don't get why people hate it and love Serperior. If there were any justice in the world, those positions would be reversed.

Samurott. I'm sorry, but I just never liked the Snivy line. My long-standing grudge against grass-types doesn't help.

In a battle? Dunno. I have a feeling that Samurott might be able to eke out a win, but that pesky Antagonist/Leaf Storm combo is pretty deadly...

Well, Samurott has claws. As real sea lions don't. They have flippers. Also, his hind legs are separate. As for real sea lions hind legs are connected. Making them look like tail fins. Ken Sugimori(the head pokemon artist) also said in a interview that he wanted to blend a sea otter and a sea lion for Oshawott's final form. And Samurott was the result. If you look closely on Samurott, you would see that they still kept some otter parts in its design. Not making the evolutionary change from Dewott too drastic. :]
