I think that however we set up our online league, we should definitely have a thread where people can see who's registered in the league. A Trainer's Eyes topic. Something like the online place Ash looked up info on his opponents in the anime.

Question one is, who starts it? Can we mods be counted on to update it?

The way I see it, League Officials will top the list, followed by Gym Leaders and other League-related trainers, then the Champion, the Elite Four, and then everyone else in order of ID.

The form, I think, would probably be something like this, all filled out from an IC perspective of the trainer.

Name:
Trainer ID:
Hometown:
Background: (Please be brief, no entire fanfics)
Pokémon: (lists their species and nicknames, maybe current level, movesets left out for privacy and to make it easier on the person managing the list)
Strategy: (Brief!)
BWP: (Battle Win Percentage)
Badges:
Contact:

Am I forgetting anything? What am I forgetting?

If we can figure out what we're doing soon enough, I can get this set up and start registering people on it within a few days.

I think it would be best if this were managed via some kind of special program.

Also, I think there's no need to bother with in-character stuff. I can think of more useful real-world information fields, for example, location/timezone/availability.

I'd like that too actually, but.... who's gonna write said program?

Pie mentioned some sort of RP element to keep players busy; I was simply going to leave said fields blank. However, Timezone and times of play should be on there too, I agree.

If you want to set up a program to handle this, go right ahead, Zhen.

And I really do want to keep the IC stuff, and I sincerely doubt I'm alone on this. Though yes, availability and the like would help, probably with the whole Contact field.

I'm iffy on the 20 cap, to be honest. For tournaments, yeah, sure - but for the entire League? Which is probably going to extend beyond those tournaments? Seems cruel to me to have that limit.

I'm already working on something much along the same lines - people log in their various teams and are able to have their own pages for it etc.

It wouldn't be fully running as that for a while yet, but a more simplified version, as you say, along the lines of a Trainer's Eye thing would be something I could come up with/help put together for Bulbagarden use.

You didn't read closely enough. That only applies to offical league battles. For cups and things like Butler's league, that rule doesn't apply. XD

Silly Pie.

And yay for Oak! ^_^

I like the idea of a Trainer's Eye type thing, so count me in.

Are you gonna design what it looks like Oak? 'Cause I'd like, totally love to help with that.

I'd also be willing to help with the appearance, as usual.

Also, so everyone's aware?

When I have more free time - like the summer - I may be willing to do art for staff and GLs and the like. My style's more like the anime's than Sugimori's, but I like to think it's not bad.

And yes, I can draw people besides Brock. :P

I always liked your art Pie. Do you do requests outside of stuff for BMG?

Erm... sometimes. I can be a bit slow with requests, so...

Eh, in that case I'll wait until you're less busy, like you said. XD

Paperfairy17: Question
Paperfairy17: You and I are the only ones who signed up for Extreme Makeover; Trainer's Eyes edition
Paperfairy17: do we design the look, and then Butler writes the program accordingly?
Me QT Pie: I guess
Paperfairy17: or does he write it first, then we add our touches
Me QT Pie: I think we should ask him
Paperfairy17: post it in the thread
Paperfairy17: since I can't double post

[17:58] Paperfairy17: omg
[17:58] Paperfairy17: I said Butler
[17:58] Paperfairy17: It's Oak writing it
[17:58] Paperfairy17: XD
[17:58] MeQTPie: ^^o

You guys suck. :p

I'll obviously be doing the design for the full version for my own uses, but if you guys wanted to do something more specific for BMGf then, sure, gimmie a design and I'll write around it. ^^

You guys tell me. So far I'm seeing a simple enough database where people can log a team, set of teams, set of Pokemon, whatever and other personal data so that they can be looked up by anyone looking to battle them.

Basically, if there's any specific stuff needed/wanted/whatever'd in it, just let me know and I'll work it in.
