This is supposed to be chapter 1 of my fic....it is merely a 'preview'.
It was a damp and cold night. I cautiously walked down the long, narrow pathway with my pokeball ready. Any second it would pop out in front of me and fight. In preparation, I took out my Raichu. Hopefully, my Raichu would be strong enough to take on this strange beast or pokemon. In a flash, the beast jumped out of a bush from the side of the path and tackled me to the ground. It viciously growled at me like a dog with rabies. My Raichu helped me by shooting a burst of lightning at the thing so I could get up. I then realized that I would need more pokemon to fight the mysterious being. I sent out my Charizard. The creature roared at my pokemon and me.
“Charizard, use Flamethrower!” I yelled. “Raichu, use Thunderbolt!”
Within seconds, they obeyed my commands and attacked the beast. It roared in pain and tackled my Charizard.
“Use Iron Tail, Raichu!” I exclaimed.
It obeyed and attacked the creature. Charizard was then set free. I threw a pokeball at the thing but strangely, it bounced off. Confused and frustrated, I summoned my pokemon back into their assigned pokeballs and ran off. The creature didn’t want to stop fighting though because it was chasing me and getting closer every step I took. I quickly called out my Charizard and flew away, safe from the moster.
The next day, at my house, I sat on the couch puzzled. ‘Hmmmm. If that beast wasn’t a pokemon, then what was it? What if it tracked my scent and is on its way to my house now? What if it’s all ready here….waiting for me to go outside?’ I didn’t want to think about the possibilities so I played on my Pokecube 3000. I was playing Pokedash Super Ultra Pinball when the phone started to ring.
“Hello?” I said into the phone.
“Hi. My name is Bill Hemlock, pokemon professor. I understand that a strange creature attacked you last night,” the man said.
“Yes…how do you know of this incident?”
“Someone who works here saw you fighting it”
“Oh. Well….what exactly do you want?”
“That creature you encountered last night harnesses a special power vital to our world. It controls the dimensions of both time and space. Without that creature, we will all die”
“That seems extremely important to the world. Is there a certain job you need me to do?”
“Yes. We need you to capture this creature. We are willing to pay up to 20 million pokedollars for the capture of this creature alive.”
“How can I do this though? The creature can’t be captured through a pokeball.”
“That’s simple. We’re all ready shipping you a special order of these balls called Shadow Balls. They’re designed to catch this creature.”
“Okay. I’ll do it…but if I die from this………”
“You won’t die….relax.”
“Call us tomorrow at 9:00am sharp.”
“Okay. Bye.”
“Bye.”
I hung up the phone, even more confused than before. The rest of the day, I sat at home thinking and watching PokeTV.
