This is my team for the Pokemon Emerald Battle Frontier. Since it's for Singles, I only have three. If it needs something, please tell me.

WARNING! This team practices the evil art of Double Team, because it's built to win. Keep in mind that there is no Evasion Clause in the Frontier.

Da Vinci the Smeargle
Jolly / Leftovers / Own Tempo
- Spore
- Substitute
- Double Team
- Baton Pass
252 HP, 252 Speed, 6 Defense

Uncreative name aside, it's my setup lead. Spore the enemy, Sub up, and Double Team behind the Sub. When the foe wakes up, Spore again and Sub if necessary. Baton Pass the boosts to either Sharpedo or Registeel.

SharKing the Sharpedo
Naive / Lum Berry / Rough Skin
- Surf
- Crunch
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
80 Attack, 178 Sp. Attack, 252 Speed

My main Pokemon, and my symbol, hence the name. With all those Double Teams, Sharpedo should be very hard to hit. And with a Substitute, you'd have to break that and miss many times before landing a blow, while I go all-out all over your team. Since items are limited, I decided on the Lum Berry, in case I somehow get statused.

Otherworld the Registeel
Impish / Chesto Berry / Clear Body
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Metal Claw
- Rest
252 HP, 158 Defense, 100 Sp. Defense

Basically, my backup plan. If Sharpedo somehow faints, this thing can wall/tank the foe to high heaven, often cleaning up the match. If I decide to pass Double Teams (and maybe a Sub), this thing can be a nightmare. I have Metal Claw as my best counter to Gengar, the one thing that walls Seismic Toss and Toxic.

Any tips?

On sharpedo, perhaps change Crunch into Baton Pass, because if it ends up on low HP, you want to keep the Evasion effect, otherwise, looking good. Maybe a Focus Sash for Smeargle to counter the low defense.

A: Sharpedo can't learn Baton Pass.
B: Focus Sash doesn't exist in Emerald.

Ok. Just a suggestion from my DPPtHgSs Knowladge, were leftovers in Generation III? If so, give Sharpedo them, they'll make the opponents life hell, as when the occasionally get through, it's healed very quickly. Your biggest problem would be weather - it gets though Evasion.

Yes, weather's annoying, but Sharpedo can kill anything that doesn't have ridiculous bulk before it dies. Still, maybe I should give it Leftovers to counter Sandstorm/Hail...

OK, I'll give it the Lum Berry until I get the BP for a second Leftovers.

On registeel, replace rest with another healing move. The best plan would be teaching Registeel a move that puts opponents to sleep then teaching the healing move over Toxic. You'd be a tank, killing then healing while they are sleeping.

Rest is Registeel's only available healing move, unfortunately...

Is recycle a possibility for the Chesto Berry scenario? Forgetting Toxic?

Registeel only needs one immediate wake-up. and no, Recycle isn't possible.

Toxic is crucial to combat those Ghosts (such as Dusclops) that wall Seismic Toss. Gengar is immune to both, so Metal Claw's pretty much a necessity.

True. Nice team BTW, don't move it up to DPPtHgSs yet, wait until ALL the symbols are yours.

I'll occasionally post the battles with the Frontier Brains.

Good Luck. Oh, BTW, have you caught the other golems, as Regice is better than the Steel? If so, use the Regice with the same moveset (of course, Metal Claw becoming Ice Beam) and It'd be slightly better. Just suggesting.

Base 200 Sp. Defense is enticing, but out of the three, I picked Registeel for all-around bulk, and because of Rock, Ice, and Steel, Steel is the best defensive typing.

I really like your smeargle's name, but I've heard it before.

Yeah... couldn't think of anything better. LOL

Tell ya what, this will not make it too 100 wins ever. Once smearlge goes down, sharpedo can't support itself, and you have registeel to deal with 3 pokemon. Sharpedo is outclassed by metagross and salamence when mixed, and even tyranitar. It also isn't bulky enough. Something bulky which can set up and heal itself with rest is a good idea, something like DDmence or curselax. Both are stronger than sharpedo. Registeel is ok, but a better abuser clean up is needed, since it will hopefully only need to take out 1 pokemon. Dragonite does well with outrage, cleaning up any steel types with fire blast. Lastly, perhaps brightpowder may be a better item on smeargle.
