Whales and sharks are some of the largest and strongest animals in the ocean. These two were also both introduced in the third generation.

I like Sharpedo better. This is partly because sharks > whales but also because Sharpedo's secondary typing, offensive stats and Speed Boost make it a better sweeper than Wailord's huge HP and...nothing else make him a tank. I also think Carvanha looks a thousand times better than Wailmer.

1. Wailord for its large size

3. Can't decide, so that'll be a tie

4. Wailord has large HP and access to Grass Knot. Combined that with Sharpedo's low defenses, it's OHKO

Which design do you like better?

Wailord. It's the biggest Pokemon of all, and is an awesome sight to behold.

Which pokemon is more useful?

Sharpedo, definitely. Wailord is the best example of the most terrible stat distribution of all; Very high HP, but pitiful Defences and low Speed. If only its Attack and Defence stats were switched.

Sharpedo has even worse Defence and much lower HP, but it doesn't waste its stats, and it has excellent offensive power and Speed Boost.

Which has the better prevolution?

Wailmer. Big and cute, Carvanha looks hideous.

In a battle between the two, who do you think would win?

Hard to say. Neither learn many moves to hurt the other, but Wailord probably has enough HP to withstand one (maybe two) attack(s) from Sharpedo and KO it in retaliation, though if Sharpedo is holding a Focus Sash, it'll have the speed edge. I'll say... Sharpedo.

Overall, which is your winner?

Sharpedo, just so much more useful.
