With director Edgar Wright's new film, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, on the horizon, I thought it would be fun to compare the director's two previous films.

  1. Which movie is your favorite?
  2. Why?
  3. Will you see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World?

Shaun of the Dead, for me. I'm a sucker for Zombie flicks, and have been ever since Romero's entries to the genre. Zombie humour is even better, in addition to the fact that the British know how to do comedy right (though Zombieland was quite funny, as well).

I assume I'll see this new movie, assuming it's based off the graphic novel series I've heard quite a bit about. I haven't had a chance to pick up any of the books and read them yet, but they're on my list.

Well, I do love funny zombie movies, but I can't make a dicision as I have yet to see Hot Fuzz.

I went with Hot Fuzz, it's just funnier to me. Both rule though, Simond Pegg + Edgar Wright = Mind blowing hilariosity :) I'm watching Shaun of the Dead right now actually which is why I made the poll lol. Also, the first option in the poll isn't supposed to have a ? in it lol

EDIT: and i just ordered all six of the Scott Pilgrim books and plan on reading them before the movie. Im super pumped for the movie too.

Hot Fuzz was lame, it has to be said. Shaun of the dead was OK. In all honesty I really don't think Simon and Nick are funny. Especially Simon Pegg.

I really enjoyed Shaun of the Dead but with Hot Fuzz I wasn't laughing along or anything.

The difference to me was that I actually followed Shaun of the Dead's storyline! XD

Funny one too! XD

lol both forums i posted this on have the same results, the last three with about the same amount of votes and SOTD with way more lol. Hot Fuzz cracked me up. The part where they find the old man (the one who can't talk lol) with all the weapons in his basement was hysterical. And how can you not laugh at him getting stabbed by Santa? lol Both are great movies, I can see how it would turn out like this.

Shaun Of The Dead FTW. So many quotable lines from that film. Can fit in at least one a day.

Hot Fuzz was okay, I think it got boring when you find out about the whole towns people killing off everyone. The build up was good...but I dunno the whole chase at the end bores me everytime.

Spaced - now thats something that is truly awesome. Its the best thing Simon Pegg has ever done and one of the greatest programmes ever made!

I love both dearly. I mean, Hot Fuzz has SUPER-BADASS EDITING for scenes where the main character fills out paperwork. How....how can you hate that?!

I loved Shaun of the Dead. I'm a die hard Zombie fan, and I loved how they were able to make a romantic zombie comedy without making the Zombies out to be cheesy or lame or anything.

As far as Scott Pilgrim goes, I definitely want to go see it. (Mind you, "want to" and "able to" are completely different concepts. Read: Broke as all holy fuck.") I haven't read the comic book that it's based on, but I've been dieing to see it ever since I first saw a trailer for it way, way, way back when. It seems like it's gonna be a riot.

shaun of the dead. it reminds me of left4dead.

Hot Fuzz. Loved every moment of it.

Shaun of the Dead didn't do it for me at all. I tried; people told me it was funny and I just disagree.
