Shaymin question

Okay, so I now have Shaymin however, I didn't get it by receiving Oak's Letter... I simply got it through mystery gift. Now that I do have it, would I have to still acquire the Oak's Letter to access the Seabreak Path, or could I just go to the white rock with my Shaymin as the game may act like I've already been there and caught Shaymin?
 
Yes you will still have to obtain the Oak's Letter access Seabreak Path. And when you reach the white rock and if you have Oak's Letter, you can catch another Shaymin.
 
Aww... that's a shame. I have a fetish for having the OT name as my name. This Shaymin is better though as it has Seed Flare at Level 50.
