Shin Chan

Have any of you guys seen this series? I can't get enough of this show. It's the funniest anime series I've ever seen and it's one of three anime that I strongly prefer in English. (The other two being Dragon Half and Excel Saga) There are so many quotable lines in this show.

"Don't stop running just because you reached the ocean honey!"

"Remember, scotch tape can fix anything except condoms right Hima." (Hima's the youngest child in the family)

"I know, let's play house. I can be the daddy and you can be the tramp that I settled for who I know verbally abuse because you won't give me @#$!"

 

[Treemo]

I've heard of it, but never seen it. It's like an anime version of South Park.

 

[Dogasu]

It's more like the Adult Swim version of Duel Masters - a show whose dub is heavily rewritten in order to appeal to an all-new audience. Except the humor in FUNimation's version of Shin-chan (from the one episode I saw, anyway) isn't really all that funny at all.

I think it's hilarious, myself.

What cracks me up the most, though, is that my cable identifies most of the episodes as "family/children".

 

[Chocolate Bones]

I've never really cared enough to watch it, other than the Shin Wars special that was on last week. It was pretty funny, but overall it's not my kind of humor.

The Japanese version I think is really funny and cute (and gross too). The dub designed to appeal more to adults? Um, it depends on the indiviual episode. Sometimes it's overdone to the point of not being funny anymore.

I prefer watching the original. Though it's easier to catch all the jokes in the dub.

One of my favourite moments was shin dancing saying,
"Hubba Hubba Girls in Rubba"

I liked it alot when I was younger.

I haven't seen any of it, though the Japanese people who I follow on youtube who post new Doraemon episodes seem to also have a lot of shinchan episodes. I probably should check out this show. Also, it's nice to see Ebichu in an avatar here on bulba.

 

[Lil Brother]

I've only seen a handful of episodes of the dub, but I love Shin-chan. The episode with the Deflowerer super-villian is my favorite.

 

[Kasumi]

All I've seen is the Mexican dub, but I love it. Shin-chan is so adorable.
