The only real new thing at the WHF so far...

The thing I'm interested in is the clouds seems to be covering ever more areas.

Oh, and in the upper-rght their seems to be a huge gate in a waterfall.

Is that a castle to the right of the mountains?

For some reason, I'm really interested in that lake on the far left. I must know what its role is. o.o

If this was new at the WHF today, how come I was looking at it yesterday and the day before -_-

That’s also not the full map, someone on GameFAQs enlarged the tiny Shinou map from the Pokémon Center picture and revealed that there’s a lot to the east of this picture that we aren’t being shown quite yet, including two rather large islands to the northeast of the Shinou mainland.

Here’s that enlarged picture.

Well, this is the clearest pic we have so far, kinda. IT still looks like more will be revealed, I heard a rumour puting the GBA games in the second slot unlocks new areas.

I've never seen that Pokedex style map of Sinou.

On the other hand, Hoenn had many unused tiny islands though.

The lake on the left interests me. I'm wondering if the town to the north of it only has a south entrence or a east entrence.

This region is supposed to be based on Hokkaido Island, right?

Perhaps it extends a little more to the left too.

Sweet! A town based off Sapporo means we could have giant snow statues of Pokemon!

Hey, I have a friend who lives in Sapporo. :)
Sweet.

Welcome to the forums, but what's the problem?
The problem is that in the small map there seems to be land in the upper-mid area, while in the real world, there is nothing there, and no, it is not Kamchatka, that is too far from there.

PS: Thanks for the welcoming, but I am not a newbie, it is only that I barely post here (or in other forums) and the prunning wipes many of my posts.

I see those 'blips' of islands you are talking about greatfire.

While it's true that the real Hokkaido region may not exactly fit
with the game overworld map, those extra two islands may just mean
they just have some extra significance in the game or act as possible
overflow for areas that don't fit within the region.

Hmm.. they do seem suspicious though, but regardless, I don't see two
fictional islands doing any harm.

Pokemon never truly confined to the real world geography, they were just
virtually based off relative locations. Kanto and Jhoto did follow their respected
locales, but aren't too proportionate. Hoenn has a bunch of extra islands
and tillted on it's side in comparison to it's real world location.
Since pokemon remains in a fantasy realm, it should be able to bend the rules
of what exists and what doesn't right?

I don't think having two islands in the wrong place will harm anything.

I think that climbing into the snow mountains will be fun, I hope they will have some cool ice pokemon.
