Shinou's underworld

What do you think Shinou's "underworld" will be like?

I'm going to venture that it's the lost, preserved ruins of an ancient civilization. Today, however, slinky and shady types have taken up residence in some parts. But many other areas are left unexplored and untouched since the old nation's demise...

It's not a very new idea, but applied to Pokémon, I'd think it'd be cool. Any other ideas?
 
It will probably be like those underground cities we saw in Colosseum/XD. I'm not expecting anything special, nor anything worthwhile. The route's will look just like caves, so no difference there. I hope they don't make us use Flash the whole way through. -_-

Maybe one of the Gyms will be down there or something. Like a hermit Gym leader and some Team Galaxy stuff.
 
It's an exciting thought, but will be rather short, I suspect. If I let my imagination run away with me, it could mean a 25-50% increase in gameplay content, but more than likely I suspect it'll add about 10%, with part of it being experienced present-game and the more fun stuff involving a possible third legendary Pokemon post-Elite 4.
 
I pray that it doesn't involve a constant onslaught of Zubat. Its the only thing I can hope for. God, I hate Zubat and Tentacool.
 
I would kneel before the Gods of Gamefreak if Zubat and Tentacool weren't in Shino at all.
 
Come now...they aren't so insufferable, are they? They are quite awesome Pokemon, in my opinion.
 
Hmm....figuratively or literally?

Is this, like, a cave full of mole people?

Or the underworld of drugs and gans?
 
I think it will be like a place that's been over run by Team Galaxy.
 
It would be pretty cool to see wild Fossil Pokemon underground, ala the anime.
 
This is probably wishful thinking, but what if the underground system were
somehow related to the Wi-Fi network. The Underground to us is mysterious
and not limited to any pre defined constraints thus, could be expandable by
any number of borders. Perhaps a whole world network underground?

Like I said this is wishful thinking and mostly not likely, but you never know.

an area taken over by team galaxy could be quite cool
 
What if it is like a subway? Maybe to opposite ends of Shin'ou, or to Johto? Or Hoenn? Or Kanto? Or...um...Detroit?

But it would be cool if it had a subway. And not just the kind of train from G/S/C, where it was an animation that flashed by. More like the boat set up from the previous games. Maybe a subway or train will take the place of the ship, due to Shin'ou's lack of as many water places. Or maybe to that lone island on the map...the one in the upper right corner of the map.

I'm thinking that this underground world is simply the Shin'ou eqivilant of The Under from Pokémon Colosseum.

Tentacool might not be in, because of limited sea routes, but Zubat will be there. I just hope the routes aren't like caves in the number of Pokemon that appear. I don't think it would make sense to have Zubat in the lower levels, as bats don't live deep underground. But I would expect Geodude, as the 'Dude has already been confirmed to be in D/P.
A member on Serebii pointed out that there's a funicular going into the mountains on the Shinou map. There's also a town that looks like a mining or industrial town. Mines, anyone?
I do think there will be at least one settlement underground.
This probably means Team Galaxy will be big. And will almost certainly have a massive presence in the underground area.
 
Yeah, I'm thinking Team Galaxy will control this new area the same way Cipher controlled The Under.
 
Mmm... I thought gamefreak said this would be a major thing? I wonder if well get to be explorers in this game with a little pick axe or pick axe minigame and be able to discover ruins or something...

I think the idea of a mining town and an underground town sounds totally cool. Also the idea of digging for things also opens up a high probability because it fits well with the names.. Though there hasn't been such a significant relevance before (in GS gold and Silver represented the two items for catching lugia and ho-oh as with the new night and day feature. In Ruby and Sapphire it was merely items for legendaries, and representation of water, land, and evil force colors)...

Now this is making me more excited... Sept 28 FTW!

Well, even if they HAVE to have "Zubat"... why not create a new D/P exclusive species to replace it. Same with Tentacool.

Like the switch from Rattata to Zigzagoon in RSE. At least Zigzagoon's Pick Up and HM slave-ability made it useful.
 
A great Zubat replacement would be a Mosquito. It'd be just as annoying.XD
 
Well... I don't think they should replace Zubat and Golbat... (mainly because I think crobat is so cool) but I think it'd be cool to have new common cave monsters to mix it up.. maybe even a new bat line (though I'd only want 2... maybe a dwarf bat and one based on a flying fox, both being more fruit eaters and non-poison).

A mosquito actually is a good idea for a pokemon.. a common animal we don't have one already of! Maybe also some pokemon could be re-arranged too.. Gligar looks like a cave pokemon.. (but it isn't as far as I know).. Spinarak also could show up logically.
