K so, according to the Bulbapedia page, in generation two if a pokemon had the IV of 10 in all categories but attack and then either a 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14 or 15, the pokemon would be born shiny. After hatching about 40 previous Larvitars, I finally got one with (allegedly) the right IVs. Stats are 11, 10, 10, 10, 10. It's not a shiny. Why? Thanks in advance.

Probably should've put this in the "Older Games" subforum.. Sorry about that, I just saw the Gold/Silver on DS sticky at the top of this forum and assumed I was in the right place. My bad.

Those aren't IVs, that's its stats. IVs are pretty much "invisible" in GSC, so you need to use an IV calculator.

Since GSC calculates stats differently than RSE/DP, use a GSC DV calculator... I can't seem to find one, though. Sorry. D:

EDIT: Hmm, maybe you are talking about its IVs/DVs and I'm just misunderstanding. :( I don't know much about GSC, so..

Ahhh, ok that makes more sense. The explanations I've read of IV's/stats lead me to believe they were the same thing. Well, that's a good little chunk of time wasted. Though I started playing back in '98, I've really only started caring about the technical aspects of the game recently, so I'm not extremely well-versed in stuff like this. Thanks for the explanation though.

Anybody know where I can find a calculator for Gen 2? Google's only bringing up 3 and 4.
