Shiny Hunting Guesses

Dexnav is confirmed not to return. Chain Fishing is likely as some water pokemon require a fishing rod to be encountered. Hordes have a chance of shinies.

What I'm guessing is that Horde Encounters and Chain Fishing will return, Solgaleo and Lunala might me Shiny Locked like any other mascot Legendary, if DexNav is not returning then maybe the Poké Radar will? We'll just have to wait and see if the Shiny Charm also returns

Next to Horde Encounters and Chain Fishing, I'm pretty sure the Shiny Charm will return and probably some device that helps you find shinies. I sure as hell hope the Poké Radar from XY doesn't return, that thing was pretty much unusable, except in large patches of grass which were rare.

It would also be fun if the Poké Pelago island where you find wild Pokémon gives you a higher chance of finding shinies, maybe only postgame. Maybe you can leave special Poké Beans that give you a higher chance of luring a shiny.

I have a feeling hordes will not return due to system limitations. The shiny charm, Masuda method and hopefully chain fishing will return. They'll probably also introduce a new shiny hunting mechanic to replace the DexNav/Pokeradar/Friend Safari. Perhaps those Pokemon shadows that run up to you have a higher chance of being shiny?

I feel like the Shiny Charm will return again as it encouages completion of the National Dex. I hope there's something similar to Friend Safari as that was great for shiny hunting and that Chain Fishing returns. I dont personally care about the PokeRadar as its a pretty difficult method in any case(though others may like it)

Chances are they'll do what they did in the past few Gens. They'll probably make the shiny rates (for standard encounters and Masuda method) higher like they did in Gen VI .

Chances were 1/8192 from Gen II to Gen V and starting Gen VI it's 1/4096, I don't think it will be even lower than that even with the Shiny Charm, imagine it being 1/2048 which is double the original chance, with the Shiny Charm it would be 1/682 and 1/256 for Masuda Method
