Shiny leaf? o_o

Well... I was playing HG and I 'talked' to my mareep...
Then she did a little dance and it said she'd found some kind of shiny leaf, then I automatically put the leaf on mareep...

It's not a holdable item or a ribbon, it just shows up under the nature and stuff, I have no idea what it does or why I have it

Anyone have any information on shiny leaves? There's nothing on the wiki.
