Shiny Pokémon just not shiny enough?

Hi. I'd just like to point out my pet peeve, as they say, is that Shiny Pokémon sprites just don't have the "special" coloration it deserves. If it's so special, like the RED Gyarados (great color choice), why can't it have more "flair" to it? Don't get me wrong, some of them do have some nice colors to it... but they're never 'special' enough...

My example:

looks almost completely like a non-shiny average Squirtle.

I wonder if any of you guys out there also had this slight irritation towards the sprite-designer's choices for colors... and if you did, recolor some that you deem would be much more attractive as a shiny!

You are right, but besides the Zapdos, the others don't seem right. The Zapdos is freakin awesome, though

I came up of some ideas of my own, but I can't show them because I don't know how yet.

Okay, I like the Arcanine and Zapdos.
Quite honestly, I think the only reason some Pokémon look so similar is so some noob will trade their Shiny for another which looks minutely different.

I think that Zapdos should be fully black or have a more subtle blend. A really dark almost black gold with a burnt tinge would look cool. Either way - black Zapdos = awesome.

I actually really like the Bulbasaur. The Arcanine looks too weird though, and red is too wrong for an ice Pokemon.

That was the case with my Abra in Ruby, now a purple Alakazam

Glaceon/Leafeon need a better shiny, imo. I have a shiny Glaceon, but I honestly think the shiny could be the regular form and the shiny being something more interesting like uh, purple. Leafeon should get one that's all autumn-y like Chikorita does

ANd shinies that aren't different aren't that great, yoiu get different IV's, but other than that...
