I use bulbapedia as my main site for everything pokemon...and the only thing that i have discovered that i dont like is that there are no pictures of the alternate coloring (shiny) of pokemon. you can see what i mean at Serebii.net when you look up a pokemon. i think that having pictures of the shinys would be really good. also, sometimes the information on pokedex entries isn't in table format and it is missing info but is not on the "Needs pokedex entry info" page. speaking of which...all the pokemon on that page are pretty much only missing info from pokemon stadium 2. if anybody owns that game...they should get on that.
thanks!

Well, it is hard to upload all of the sprites for them. We've got a specific system for doing so, so it may take a while. Plus we're more concerned with adding to a page's actual information than just a picture.

We have some. We just need the rest, and I plan to do that in the coming weeks.

I've done experimental inclusion of the shiny sprites within the articles in [bp=Torterra (Pokémon)]Torterra[/bp] and [bp=Gallade (Pokémon)]Gallade[/bp]. The sprite names, as uploaded to Archives, correspond to the normal-colored sprites only with a "b" added to the end of each filename.

Thoughts?

That's great, except...

There's already a standing method of naming shiny sprites. I believe it is similar to what you did, but instead of "b", it adds "_s".

Well, good thing I only uploaded the sprites for two Pokémon, then. ;P

i like it

true...i agree that info is way more important than just pictures but sometimes i want to see pictures of them shiny and i have to go somewhere else....but i looked at torterra's page and it was exactly what i was hoping for...if you were trying to do everything...then you would also do pictures of male/female...but i still like what is happening...

We could easily add sprites to show gender differences just like we did under the shiny heading.

Which is what I planned ahead for. [bp=Template:Sprite]Presenting the Sprite template![/bp]

It comes in a few flavors, all dependent on the Pokémon species. If there's no difference in sprites between male and female, gender is none. If there is, gender is both. And then there's the ever-present typecolor heading thing.
