Like almost everyone in the Rychlé Šípy fandom, I ship Mirek Dušín with Jarka Metelka. The series focuses heavily on close friendships so as someone who enjoys mostly platonic ships, I just love this ship! The shippy moments in the novels....

Other than that, I mostly ship only Pokémon characters? Not like I'm really into any other fandoms than these two...
 
Yes, I remember reading that the ship name for Katniss and peeta from the hunger games had to get changed a lot because the portmanteau name thing did not do them well….

Look at their names and look at the possible combinations. Not good.

Anyways the fandom outsmarted the system and their ship name is now everlark from their last names (Everdeen and mellark, actually I think this name is really cute)

there are some other fandoms who do a similar thing, just not in the __shipping format. i'm into wordgirl and my favourite ship is lady redundant woman x dr two brains, and in the fandom they're referred to as provoclone! (though, some of the more popular wordgirl ships are just referred to by portmanteau, but most of the villain ships at the very least have word names)

Wait a second.... Aren't ship names from surnames preferred?

(I've heard about that ship name situation you described by the way.... Who came up with that name?? Anyway, agree, everlark sounds goooood!! Haven't read hunger games yet, so not into shipping characters from there, but it's a cute ship name!)

I've heard that word ship names are only in fandoms for franchises with multiple universes? Where are multiple distinct characters with same names, like in Pokémon?? Don't know if it's true as, not really into any other fandoms like that....
 
i realized today that despite all the random shielbert ships me and my friends have come up w, we dont have one for an alola character yet, so i thought i'd ask here if anyone has any thoughts on it? suggestions so far have been kahili (twice was she suggested), lusamine + guzma (and anabel but i dunno if i'll really count that since she didn't debut in alola)

i dunno why i ship this dude w so many people LOL i just think a lot of these hypothetical couples are really cute

So I've been wondering... is there a way to figure out the origin of a Pokemon ship name on the forums? Lance/Jasmine is Fairytaleshipping but I've been so curious about who coined the term and why. And perhaps request a possible change?

I looked through the shipping list thread but to no avail. Not that the ship name is bad itself, I could see the reasons behind it. It's just... frustrating that I've seen Fairytaleshipping associated with Lance/Diantha and Iris/Serena instead. It can be difficult to navigate through the Fairytaleshipping tag on other social media sites like Twitter. It doesn't help that a popular Twitter user decided to name Lance/Diantha - Fairytaleshipping despite that I said that name was already taken to avoid confusion. I was ignored and it sucks.

I know people don't have to follow the shipping list to a T... but Lance/Jasmine is my OTP and I just want it to be properly tagged. Luckily, I managed to snag Fairytaleshipping tag on Archive of Our Own, and have been telling people my OTP is called Fairytaleshipping.

I guess that's what happens when you ship a rare pair its name gets stolen from more popular ones...

for ships, I have quite a lot, both in the anime, and my pokeverse (and the manga). One of my main ships in the anime though is contestshipping. It just… works.

not sure if you're looking for Pokémon characters or not, but although i do not know you super well, you are firmly planted as katniss hunger games in my mind ahaha

Sorry for my lateness, but I will gladly tell you...!

...Except, I'm kind of boring LMFAO!!! Maybe it's because I can't 'give her away' to any character because she is my fav and name sharer, or maybe it's because I accidentally headcanon her to be like me in not experiencing too much romantic attraction to others (at least, in the 'traditional way'...? if that's a thing??), buuuuut... I actually don't really have a 'normal' definitive ship for her believe it or not!

I think her and Iono would be suuuper cute, I have a short-lived Tumblr askblog of them, they'd have tons of chemistry together I know it. Zinnia is probably the other most 'obvious' pairing because she's the other ORAS newcomer...

It's like, I know she has lots of love to give, but I haven't decided in what way she wants to give it, if that makes sense. Take that as you will.


...I'm a really big sucker for platonic pairings though, if you haven't noticed! I need to make a thread for them very soon here, ehehe. So I will say — and I will make sure to preface this this is in a platonic way grrrr my OTP is probably Lisia Pokémon and Emmet ahaha. (look at my profile pic...!)

It's very obvious why that is if you know me ahaha, but even with the fics I've read, written, and exchanged with a certain very very very special Subway Master of mine where they've gotten to interact (this is in a shared AU of ours, so none of you know what I'm talking about, sorry), I've always really loved how they both are to each other. Maybe it's just me being me, ahaha, but the thought of those two being an unlikely platonic pairing makes me really happy...? They are the world's bestest friends despite all their differences! Nobody else would have thought to have them interact if it wasn't for us, you know? So it feels special, I guess, ehehe. I don't think I could explain much more, other than that it makes me veeerrryy happy. (^_-)-☆

Also I do want her to be friends with Lacey, I haven't played the DLCs yet but having my namesake meet my second adopted dotter would be kind of nice ..
