Years ago, you and some of your classmates became stranded on an island while on a boat. After many struggles and losses, your group survived and was eventually accepted by the locals as their own. Tribal life is tough but fair and everyone wears simple clothing of animal hides, rags or feathers. Sometimes you wonder about the outside world or the forbidden areas of your island home but so far no one has been able to figure a way to leave and those that venture into the most dangerous areas are most often never heard from again.
The only memento from your past life is an old, hard cover book, which rests on a waist high flat stone near the village. For some reason the book is not movable and the locals simply ignore it and assume some kind of magic is at work. The pages seem to be blank except for the first one that reads: "Prologue, complete" Although any meaning that might have meant to you has long since been forgotten.
Suddenly one day, a village scout excitedly explains that a large number of people are swimming toward a nearby beach and coming closer. You think that this could be a chance to escape but the village elders will probably assume that the people are pirates and have them killed. And so after years of island life, you and your former classmates must decide between trying to make contact with these new arrivals, joining the tribe in hunting them down or staying out of it. Although that would mean that you might never see civilization again.
Rules:
This role play proceeds according to chapters. Players have complete freedom of choice but it is recommended to try and complete book chapters in order to advance the plot. Usually at the beginning of a chapter there will be some hint as how to progress. Non player characters are characters in the role play who do not belong to any single player. These include other students, tribe mates and enemies, among other things. Minor NPC's can be created and temporarily controlled by anyone for story purposes. Just keep in mind that friendly npc's are almost always weaker than the main characters.
Getting hurt weakens you while eating and resting recovers strength.
Some potential enemy types include: living objects, wild animals and others. It is possible to finish the RP without fighting at all if you become good enough at running away from threats.
Take care when completing your characters personality, because this info could become very important in later chapters. (there will probably be 10)
No godmoding
No sex scenes
No controlling each other
The goal is to unravel the mystery and reach the end of the final chapter in one piece.

Questions may be asked here or in the other thread once the RP starts. The island is highly mysterious, so if you have a special character in mind, it might not automatically get rejected. For example, a person who survived a submarine crash.
