OMG TOPIC!!!1

For those who don't know who that is, in "Hocus Pokemon" Ash was turned into a Pikachu by a freak magic accident. Sadly, it was only for a short moment and changed back at the beginning of the next episode.

With that said, would you like to see this occur again, but this time longer?

I wouldn't mind seeing an episode or two centered around that. We need more transformation episodes. We got, like, two throughout the entire series (PMD and the above mentioned episode).

OMG!

Yes! I would LOVE for Ashachu to make a reappearence in the anime!! And he would have to be a Pikachu for much longer this time!! :-D

Thank you so much for making this topic, Jonouchi. ^_^

You know how much of an Ash fangirl I am, right? Well, I like Ashachu just as much as I like Ash. XD

Anyway though, with that said, I completely agree with you. We need more transformation episodes. Pokemon Magic was such a great concept, and I simply love Ashachu. He's so cute and adorable. XD

Oh, and by the way, I don't know if anyone here has been reading this, but there is a person on Deviant Art (Coshi Dragonite) who has actually made a series of comics based on Ashachu. And that series is very, very good, because it stays close to the story (from "Hocus Pokemon"), and the script is well written too.

Yes, she should! ^^

Hopefully, they won't make Shinji's Murkrow evolve (I heard that he has one, but I'm not sure, since I don't keep up with spoilers for Japanese episodes).

If that doesn't happen, then there's a good chance they will bring back Lily for another episode.

The question is though, would Ash want to become a Pikachu again? And willingly this time?

Or would something happen where he's somehow forced into being turned into a Pikachu for a second time?

Oh yeah, and about "Hocus Pokemon", what I find interesting is the fact that we don't know exactly how long the spell lasted. For all we know, he could've been a Pikachu for a few days, or even a week (I like to pretend it was a week, just for fun XD).

However, I really wish the writers would've made an entire episode where Ash was a Pikachu the whole time. That was such a great idea they had, and I feel like they didn't elaborate enough on how Ash was dealing with his transformation (I mean, I'm sure Ash wasn't happy the whole time, that's one heck of an experience to go through!!).

And if there was ever a time when Ash (or I should say Ashachu) was sad or confused about anything, I'm sure that Pikachu really helped him out when he needed it most.

Also, it would've been very interesting to see how Ash would've reacted to everything during this situation. It would've been cool to see him struggle with adjusting at first, and then try to get used to it, until he eventually got the hang of being a Pikachu.

But again, I say it's a shame the writers didn't devote an entire episode to this storyline. They could've done so much with it.

Anyway, here's my long rant on "Hocus Pokemon". I hope you guys enjoy reading it.

I love this episode, and after having watched it so many times, I found out that this episode leaves you with a lot of questions that somehow or another seem to go unanswered because the episode itself just doesn't go until enough detail about it (I guess that's because the writers either didn't have enough time time to put all those extra details in there, or they just didn't feel the need to do that for some reason).

Anyway, this is what intrigues me.

Okay, for example, one thing I don't understand about this episode, and that I could never figure out, is whether or not the Pokemon Mind Reading Spell actually worked. Basically, the ending of the episode kinda contradicts itself in the dub version. And I'll explain it like this.

First of all, yeah, the spell turned Ash into a Pikachu, but like Lily said (in the dub) right after the event happened, "Strange...that wasn't supposed to happen.", so with that statement it seems like the spell went wrong somehow. Yet, later on, after Ashachu starts playing with all the Pokemon, Misty says, "Well, maybe the spell worked afterall" and Brock says, "Yeah, Ash is definitely inside the mind of a Pikachu".

But still, that just left me even more confused, and it doesn't anwer these questions either:

Okay, since they had all the ingredients right and everything, my question is, if indeed the spell was messed up, then what went WRONG with the spell exactly, and what could Lily have done accidentally to make that happen?

Also, do you think it could be possible that Lily had the wrong idea about the spell in the first place and how it's supposed to work or something? Like maybe what was supposed to happen is the exact opposite of what she had originally thought? Could this mean the spell was actually SUPPOSED to turn Ash into a Pikachu? *hears gasps from everyone* O_O

I mean, just the fact that Lily's spellbook was smudged up like that makes me wonder, did the writers do that intentionally? Like, they wanted to keep the 'rest' of the spell a secret from us or something?

So yeah, those are all the questions I thought of which really stumped me, lol. And I'm not sure if I'm the only one here who has thought about these things or if everyone else has been wondering the same things. But, either way, I'd still like to know all there is to know about this episode, and finally have those questions answered. ^^

Anyway though, those interesting, deep thoughts about "Hocus Pokemon" aside, I think it would be great if the actual reason the writers smudged Lily's book was so they could bring Lily back in a future episode or something, to maybe explain what the REST of the spell said. Hehe. XD I know it's not very likely to happen, but that would be really cool if it did happen.

Well, you could consider Doll!Misty and Doll!Brock transformations. :P

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Ashachu appear again. It would make PTL nuts with giddiness, for one thing. ;P

I am in agreement with everyone over the return of Ashachu. I was very disappointed in the fact that the writers didn't cover more of Ash's feelings into being transformed into a Pokémon. It was an interesting concept, and sad that there was no other stories to go with it. Aside from PMD, that is.

Well, maybe they could let Shinji's Murkrow evolve.

But they could still have Lily appear with either Murkrow, or its evolved form. That way, we would still get to see Ashachu again. XD

Well, you could consider Doll!Misty and Doll!Brock transformations. :P
That's true, Lil Brother.

However, what happened with Brock and Misty, those are transformations of a different kind (inanimate).

What happened to Ash was a really cool, human-to-animal (or rather, animal-like creature) transformation. XD

EDIT: And by the way, am I the only person who finds it strange that Ash ended up catching an Aipom? I mean, I'm not sure how many of you realize this, but one of the ingredients in the spell came from an Aipom, and that was Aipom's Tears.

I just find it funny how Ash happened to catch a Pokemon which helped cause his Pikachu transformation. LOL. XD

That makes me wonder if Ash is reminded of the experience whenever he sees a Murkrow or Aipom......

Heh, I think too much about "Hocus Pokemon", don't I? XD

Aww......

He is soooooo cute!!!!!! ^______^

Also, that's an Ashachu pic I don't have yet. *saves*

XD

Thanks, FabuVinny. ^^

I think the overwhoring of Pikachu is enough, so if Ash were to be turned into a Pokémon again, then I'd rather let it be anything else but Pikachu.
I do agree that we need more of such episodes.

In Mystery Dungeon, there is one Pokémon that you are destined to be. I wouldn't be surprised if the same was true for Ash and Pikachu.

Someone else turning into a Pokémon, however...

Yeah, I don't know if the anime writers would allow someone else to be turned into a Pokemon (besides the MD special).

In my opinion, Ash seems like the only person who could handle going through that kind of experience.

I agree, FabuVinny.

It seemed so fitting, that he would get turned into a Pikachu. I thought it was a very cute thing for the writers to do. I wonder how much closer that made the two of them......

Heh, I bet Ash learned a lot from Pikachu about how Pokemon live. Seeing life in a different way, that may have helped him become a better trainer. I don't really know about that.

But I know for a fact that the bond between him and Pikachu became much stronger. And the relationship he had with his other Pokemon probably improved as well.

And because of what happened in the most recent Battle Frontier episode, it made me think of "Hocus Pokemon" again. In "Talking A Good Game", Anabel is able to read the minds and emotions of Pokemon, and she can even communicate with them.

I have a good feeling that's how the Pokemon Mind Reading Spell was supposed to work. But for whatever reason, the spell messed up somehow and the writers chose not to reveal why (by smudging Lily's book). And as a result, Ash got turned into a Pikachu.

I'm not sure why, but every time I think about it, I keep coming to the conclusion that Ash was supposed to become a Pokemon. I don't know if that's what the writers intended. But it seems to make sense, considering Ash has had experiences most trainers would never have on their journeys (like having seen each lengendary Pokemon at least once, and having seen Ho-oh twice).

I think that's just further proof he's a special person.

I wonder though, is that one of the requirements for becoming a Pokemon Master, to have been turned into a Pokemon yourself? Nah, probably not. But still, the fact that this happened to Ash seems very significant to me.
