Should Dittos Be Able To Breed With Each Other?

They should reproduce by budding. You stick one Ditto in the daycare and come back to the original Ditto and the new baby (Lv1) Ditto.

I like that concept asexual reproduction I wouldn't have thought of that one for a while. They could introduce that in generation V by having ditto hold an item. Like Microscope or Slides idk haha

No, they have to be rare. Egging Dittos just means you can make tons of them and distribute them, which isn't really fair. Half of Ditto is finding and catching one.

Yes, because some people(like me) don't like to/shouldn't have to catch wild Dittos all the time.

I agree. If Ditto could be bred, (depending on the number of steps to hatch it) I would definitely have THAT rather than go thru the time-consuming PokeRadar and the stocking of PokeBalls and Pokemon in ur team to get it weak enough to catch.

I always thought they could until last month... he he.

Anyways, I think they should. Makes no sense why not. If you can mass breed starters (which usually would require a ditto) and other uber rarities, then why can't you mass breed ditto?

Each time I've attempted to get a ditto I've found them very easily and caught them on the first or second attempt...

But yes, they should be able to breed, I see no reason why they shouldn't....

The fact Ditto can't breed with each other suggests they reproduce asexually.

ditto is most best described as a single-cell organism. so, asexual reproduction, or replication, would be pretty cool. or logical. whichever lol

I say no. I find the idea funny that it can turn into anything to breed as, but can't breed in it's true form.

Weren't Ditto able to breed in Generation II?

I'm fairly certain they had the ability to breed with each other, as I do recall hatching a Ditto egg.

Ditto = amoeba. Amoeba = asexual.

So if a Ditto is alone in the daycare, it will produce eggs with Ditto in them.

EDIT: Besides, who finds blobs to be sexy? o_o

Ditto can breed... with anything but ditto. If a species can't breed with itself... Are all the dittos in the pokemon world immortal or something? I remember the theory that Ditto's were just mews that lost their ability to keep their form, since they weigh the same, have the same color, and both can use transform. Ditto sure is an interesting pokemon. I dont mind it not breeding with itself, no big deal.

Why does everyone say that Ditto and Mew have the same color? Mew is pink and Ditto is purple.. Unless the Mews that lost their forms changed a color.

I never understood how they bred with other things to begin with. If they used Transform, they'd be a copy of that pokemon, with identical reproductive parts.

I was always more confused that Nidorina and Nidoqueen lost the ability to reproduce.
