Should I buy the movies, or get the series first?

Basically thinking of getting back into the anime, I've only seen the first 15 episodes or something and then a good portion of the rest of Kanto, and maybe a few snatched segments of other shows later on.

Seen the movies on e-bay for a decent price, is it worth me trying to scout out all the animes on e-bay and suchlike first along with the movies? Or should I just buy and watch the movies then search for the anime?

Depends on how much time you have. Do you have time to catch up on nearly 500 episodes of the anime or do you just want to watch 9 movies?

Some movies are better than others too, so they're not all the same quality.
