Should Paul replace his current roster with Pseudo-Legendaries?

Can you see Paul, having Pseudo-Legendaries for his party roster?

Yes, we all know by now how power-hungry Paul is. Although, one irony I've noticed was the fact he released some pre-evolutions (Chimchar and x3 Starly) of some OU's (Infernape and Staraptor).

While checking out his current party roster, he currently has:

1 UU (Honchkrow)
2 BL (Torterra and Ursaring)
2 OU (Weavile and Gliscor)
1 BL pre-evo (Magmar)

What do you think? PS: Please elaborate your reasonings on "Other".

Hmmm...interesting question. I could most see him with Garchomp, as that is the standing powerhouse. Salamence would be my next bet.

Wait, when did Garchomp and Salamence become "legendaries" of any kind? o_O

They're just very powerful Pokemon. And to be specific, they're Dragon types. Surely it'd be more of a question of whether he'd get a fully evolved Dragon type?

In which case - probably.

He released Stantler once he caught it.And he has a Electabuzz and Gliscor.

The title should be 'Should Paul replace his current roster with 6 Arceus?'XD

Seriously, I don't think he would do so unless he see a wild fully-evolved one.

Well, his daddy does train legendaries- Uh, I mean, it would be nice of him to get a psuedo legendary. I'd rather see Garchomp than Salamence though, Salamence has got plenty of screentime. Or even see him with Metagross...

I would assume that after losing to Cynthia's Garchomp, he would see its true power and get himself one? (or something like it?) But then again, I don't see Paul changing his team.

As said Stantler was released and Electabuzz is back on the team (or at least we can assume so- when Paul called Reiji he wanted to take back Electabuzz for the water Gym)
I'm sure Paul will keep his current team except for Ursaring
Each of his Pokémon is a "rival" to one of Ash's
Pikachu - Electabuzz
Staravia - Honchkrow
Turtwig - Torterra
Chimchar - Magmar
Buizel - Weavile
Gligar - Gliscor
If something- than Ursaring will get released or sent to Reiji to make room for Electabuzz
I doubt any more changes will happen to his team except for evolutions of course

Paul would want Pseudo-legendaries (I just call them "The 600's"), but I can't see him quite yet being a good enough trainer to be able to train them properly. 1 of them, at a stretch, but not a whole team.

I suspect he's pretty much guaranteed to show up at the Sinnoh League with Magmortar and Electivire (getting Magmar and Electabuzz to their final forms would certainly be a goal for him).

And I can see Weavile going more readily than Ursaring, Piplup (when was the last time we saw an Urasaring in a official battle, anyway?)

But who will be Buizel's rival? Weavile will go only if they'll give Paul a water type (of course- that's my opinion... who knows what they'll do)
And he'll still need to release/send to Reiji someone to get Electabuzz... Ursaring seems the most likely to me

He asked Reiji to send back Electabuzz for his next battle against Crasher Wake, a water-type trainer. If anything, Magmar is the one who will likely be sent back temporarily.

It's not like he must use Magmar or Ursaring if he has one or both with him

Ursaring can be Buizel's rival, probably better than Weavile can (Water resists Ice, don'tcha know?)

I can't see Weavile being a great help against Crasher (again, Water resists Ice, limiting Weaviles options). Ursaring, OTOH, can Hyper Beam things to death.

But all the rivals are related to each other by type/evolution or something
Pikachu/Electabuzz - electric/tied in battle, Staravia/Murkrow - flying/Staravia lost in its battle against Paul, Turtwig/Torterra - evolution/type/I think Turtwig lost in its battle in DP6, Chimchar/Magmar - type/Paul released Chimchar and got "a better fire type", Buizel/Weavile - weasels, Gligar/Gliscor - evolution/type/know each other

If something should rival Buizel instead of Weavile it's either a water type or a fighting type because of how Buizel is fighter despite not being a fighting type... Poilwrath might be a good rival to it
There's no connection between Buizel and Ursaring

I doubt Paul will need anything more than Electabuzz and Torterra
If something they'll need only a little help that can be done by Honchkrow
And even if he keeps Ursaring than at least eventually when Ash and Paul battle at the league I'm sure they'll have the rivals battle each other so Ursaring won't be used (again it's all my opinion - I don't say it's sure)

Are you kidding me? In the episode where Ursaring was caught, it was being hit by dozens of attacks but kept going. Kinda like... well, kind of like Buizel!

And incidentally, Buizel is an otter, not a weasel.

Ursaring and Weavile are the most likely ones to be release.I would say he'll release Weavile for a Jynx, not a Pseudo-Legendary.

Buizel
Weavile

If you got a better option for Buizel's name meaning I'd like to know
At first I didn't think about Buizel's name being similar to weasel since I thought it's more like the Japanese name where they say Bu-i-zel (/zeru but whatever) but when I hear how they said it's name in English they say it like Bwi-zel exactly like weasel... but again I might be wrong so if you know a better meaning for its name I'd like to know

Right, so we automatically assume a Pokemon is a certain species based on a portmanteau'd name? When have we ever seen Charmeleon change colour? We can't trust on pronunciation's either. As the dub has shown, they often don't pronounce names correctly; Raikou and Pachirisu being just two examples.

If you had any knowledge whatsoever about nature, you would know the difference between a Weasel and an Otter

If Serebii got that right- Buizel is described as the "Sea Weasel Pokémon"

And I'll never understand why people decide Raikou's English name must be identical to it's Japanese name
As far as I know any official source call it Rai-ku so that's the correct English name... it's just very similar to the Japanese but isn't the same

If Serebii got that right. Emphasis on the "if". Serebii is hardly the most reliable source; remember the legendary Blaziken?
