I love Pokemon! But put the last twelve years into consideration, I'm think it's time for our beloved franchise take a bow and say goodbye before it becomes to stretched, outdone, and repetative.

Kanto started it; Johto kept it going; Hoenn enhanced it; and I think Sinnoh has concluded it. (Considering they've finally revealed how the Pokemon World came to be which was a HUGE mystery when Pokemon first started)

No legendary can top Arceus unless maybe it's a duo of a life and death Pokemon. (For Kids!) So before our beloved franchise becomes prolonged for the sake of it, let it end happily and gracefully.

Well?

i think your right its gunna winde up like yugioh which dident go out with a bang, i think its finaly time to say goodbye

Mario games have been around since 1981, and Zelda games since 1987. The Star Wars franchise has existed since 1977, and James Bond is even older. So why does Pokemon (started in 1996) have to go away now?

I really don't think the franchise is going away anytime soon. In my opinion as long as they keep making money they can go as long as they want.

I see your point but think about... No other game like Mario and Zelda involve capturing over 500 Pokemon. The more that's added the more complicated it becomes and Pokemon follows a linear plot where one generation takes place after another... How many stories of a child prodigy defeating gym leaders, pokemon league, and catching legendaries and mastering contests can there be? It's bound to get old.

So does jumping on goombas to save a princess who's been kidnapped by a giant dino turtle and stopping an evil king from taking over the world.

Or a mute kid trying to save a princess from a monster pig/human.

EDIT: Wrong topic :p

Anyway. I don't think its time for an end. As someone said, Pokemon is a rather big money maker, and until games like Mario or Metroid are gone, I don't see Pokemon ending anytime soon.

I still like pokemon. Yes its been a logn time since its started and some parts get tedious to see over and over. There is now a large amount of pokemon, over 490 and we have now seen pokemon that created the pokemon world etc.. especially in Gen IV.

but why does there have to be a Gen V? Why could the writers not do what they did for the Orange islands and make another area for the gang to go to without implimenting new pokemon after the end of Sinnoh/Battle Frontier etc...? It could be made into a game too. But was that not when Gen II came out at the same time as the Orange Arc?

There is little chance of pokemon ending anytime soon anyway.

And IMO, I think the reason that Ash does a similar thing each region, e.g. only start with his Pikachu and not other pokemon he caught previous is probably to appeal to those just starting to watch the show who have not before, to make them not feel out of the loop, the new audience would see what is going on without really needing to see older episodes, and the older audiences would see how Ash and gang handle the region they are in now, compared to other regions etc...

i think pokemon will end soon.. I mean someone told me that pokemon fans need to get laid..
but i dont want it to end it unless all those mysteries are solved like whos ash's dad?,and whos gonna be ash's girlfriend..(just playing crazy)

I mean someone told me that pokemon fans need to get laid..

I'm sorry. What does that have to do with anything?

And... I cant imagene pokemon would end. Even tho we've seed te GOD pokemon.
I mean... The formula works right? new pokemon, same story and new moves.
Hope it doesn't end anytime soon.

And ohyeah... pokemon fans do get laid... XD

The main reason why Pokémon is still around is that it still sells. Seriously, what is there to understand? Pokémon makes huge amounts of money, and Nintendo loves money.

Thus, Pokémon is still around.

If you dislike it so much, you can always leave it where it is an get interested in something else.

Ok, so maybe I could understand it getting dragged out, but camahn. It's like taking drugs away from addicts. What would we all do with our spare time?

Pokemon = multibillion dollar franchise
Pokemon movies = consistently in top 5 (Japan)
Diamond/Pearl = sold over 15 million copies worldwide

It'll go on until Nintendo stops making money off of it.

Well for me, Pokemon is just starting out really. The Sinnoh Anime is excitingly, more than the old episodes. A Lot more "main" characters appear (Paul, Cynthia, her grandmother, the Galactics, the D/P Rival, Gary, and much more) and the whole plot gets more mature, I think the Style and Plot of the Sinnoh jorney is like the same level as the older movies.

Pokemon will end when Naruto and DBZ end in terms of Anime. The games will end when people don't want to play Pokemon games anymore. I equate Pokemon to FF in this because it's still the same franchise with their hard core fans but will keep tweaking the games to make them different each time. Honestly, I don't see it happening any time soon.

I wouldn't like to see a fifth generation, honestly. But not because I want it to end, but because they're running low on monster designs and I want to see more done with what they have. There are so many directions to take the pokemon world, but I'm sure we'll just get 100 or so new creatures and a new place to explore - I'll be disappointed, buy it anyway, and probably log 300+ hours playing it.
