Should they appear more often or just in two-part episodes? Discuss.

That's an interesting question :-/

I want to show up a little more, but I don't want them as excruiatingly pointless as they were in most of DP. It just feels weird having them as guest villains (though I like them better than showing up when there's no fucking point).

I just wish they'd make them more fun again. They were the Worst Villains Ever, but they were still more likable, interesting, and entertaining than our heroes. Now they're in a very uncomfortable grey area of being tougher, smarter and meaner, but are lot less fun.

I want them to appear just a little more often, but the prodcuers need to find some middle ground first.

I dunno. Team Rocket's antics have far long ago gone old, and by DP they just weren't amusing anymore. On the other hand, whenever they appear in two-parters nowadays, it is a complete chore. They never accomplish anything and there is no suspense to back up their 'seriousness'. Whether they appear more or less doesn't really concern me, because it doesn't really make a difference. It will be a disapointment either way. (Apart from a certain Meowth's lust filled boss fantasies, those shall be missed.)

No. As Dogasu says we don't need 2 minute scenes of them again or to see them go back to capturing wild Pokemon like they did prior to the first Don battle tournament.

DP was the final run for the old TR, I imagine BW is their final run in general.

HECK YEAH! I would love it if the writers got their heads back on and gave TR the attention they deserve. These guys are some of the most iconic villains in anime history. For a long time their witty and often ridiculous humor brought a good balance to the show. In addition, a few of their actually threatening plots made for some interesting episodes. I sincerely hope the writers will reconsider if they are indeed thinking about dropping them, and just give them better pacing and development rather than giving them few and far apart "serious" missions that hardly reflect any value in their character.

I felt pretty happy at the start of BW because Team Rocket seemed to have finally gotten their act together. They dressed in the actual Team Rocket uniforms and pulled shady deals consulting mystery informants in alleyways and subway stations. I really enjoyed the idea that Team Rocket was going to become a serious threat with plans that where more interesting than just trying to capture pikachu. However, as the series continued they slowly reverted backwards. They changed back to their white rocket uniforms and they even pulled the same exact scheme with meowth where he pretended to be fired from team rocket. I don't remember the title of that episode but I'm positive I've seen at least one episode where that has happened before.

Their whole plot to release the kami-trio was slightly more in the right direction for what I expected to come from them at the start of BW, but it still isn't much different from what we've seen in the past. They're supposed to be an evil organization so for pete's sake act like it.

So for my opinion on the topic, they should only appear more often if they changed to fit the image of what you'd expect out of a villainous organization. Otherwise it's just the same script recycled from past generations and there's only so many times I can watch team rocket blast off again.

I had gotten really sick of their antics prior to BW, but now I kinda miss the old versions of the TRio. Even if they had their old personalities still, I would only want to see them (and other Team Rocket members) to appear slightly more often than they have been lately so they can brighten up the more tedious episodes again.

Today i missed Meowth! There was no one to translate the talk between Snivy and Tepig! :(
I don't know what's worse them exploding every week or have insignificant 2parter plots every 2 months! They aren't succsesfull either way so I don't mind them and Wobbuffet blowing up some more in the future! I miss this guy! :D

*Isn't a fan of the anime but will post anyway*

It irritates me how prior to B/W, Team Rocket appeared in every single episode. From what I've heard they appear less now, which is how it should have been in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I like them, but they don't need to appear in every episode.

No, I actually quite like it this way. The anime is changing and TR do not need to appear in every single episode like they used to. The occasional appearance is good enough for me then slowly but surely they'll be retired from the anime completely as they can't chase after just one Pikachu forever.

I wasn't keen on Team Rocket prior to Best Wishes and felt pleased when they became appearing less and only in plot reasons, no filler like DP.

I would prefer it if Team Rocket didn't appear more

You know, I was getting pretty tired of Team Rocket's old 'steal the CoTD's Pokemon using some weird mecha after having a fantasy of Giovanni using said Pokemon for his own pleasure, only for Ash to save the Pokemon and then have Pikachu use Thunderbolt to blast them off'. Because they did that for nearly 660 episodes.

However, I've always liked Meowth, so I was pretty annoyed when Team Rocket started to appear less in BW. I was also disappointed to learn that Meowth wouldn't be staying with the twerps after that Meowth arc last year. But, I think Team Rocket should be retired at the end of BW, because 15+ years is certainly a long time for main characters in any work of fiction.

One thing I really like about there being less Team Rocket is that it forces the writers to focus more on the regulars and other supporting characters, and it makes the show less predictable.

No, just no. I think its better this way because I don't want to see them blasting/running off over and over and over again...

I wish they'd appear more again, but not necessarily every episode. I miss how they were shown in early BW, just snippets of them doing some sort of mission to show everyone what they were up to instead of just randomly making a reappearance 3 months later. I don't miss how they were in every episode pre-BW just for the sole purpose of being there at all, not to mention how predictable their plots always were back then. Some of the steal-whatever-Pokemon-is-relevant is still there, but I'm glad they're shown doing other missions besides that.

By now, the point has been made. TR doesn't need to appear constantly, as they've found other ways to create conflict. Do they need to appear more often than they do? I'd still say no, since their current premise doesn't make for frequent appearances. What they need is better cohesion, a thread to link their schemes together. It seemed they were doing this up until the earthquake prevented the TP plot from happening. I embraced the idea of TR being more competent and actually posing a threat, it's refreshing after the endless droll of wacky TR. Now that they've done all this, it seems there is no going back for them, they've achieved what they've always wanted to do. (besides get Pikachu, but even that is not really in their mission statement anymore) Everything's fine the way it is, but I do wish that this was building up to something rather than just being random encounters. Up until now, it seemed TR was even increasing in how much of a threat they are, from getting excruciatingly close to capturing Pikachu, to actually participating in a scheme to capture legends. The last two parter was a glorified filler episode, but it can be forgiven for now. I still look forward to seeing what TR will do next.
