Should Team Rocket be in the next generation anime?

TRio (Team Rocket trio) has been in the anime for about as long as the main protagonist Ash Ketchum (Satoshi)

Currently in the XY series TRio has kinda been losing steam in my opinion. Their encounters seem to be more lackluster and short compared to previous sagas and their sometimes shoehorned into episodes just to blast off twenty seconds later... -_-

If the writers decided not to have Team Rocket in the next generation anime how would you feel? TRio's existence has always been kinda pointless because of their incompetence but they had better interaction and personalities in previous sagas compared to now.

And I'm not talking about them being replaced by another group I'm mean no more bad guys tailing Satoshi and his friends.

Me? Eh...if they continue to act like they do currently then...yeah I would like them to be written out in the next series but if the writers can restore how they were pre-Best Wishes then maybe I can find away to admire them again.

However I don't see this happening as it seems that the writers treat TRio like Ash as a integral part of the show so them being removed isn't likely.

Of course they should be in, they are not as good as they were originally. I think Best Wishes really messed them up.
I liked their comic relief aspects in the original series, and also liked how Jessie was going into Pokemon Coordinating in AG and DP.

I hated the new serious TR for the first part of Best Wishes, and even when they were restored to their old selves, they didn't seem completely the same. They don't have any goals, they don't really have any humour. But still as a nostalgia freak I'd miss them if they were gone.

Well, you need conflict in a story. TR is a consistent, albeit incompetent and dorky, source of conflict. Considering the anime is always very reluctant to actually use the regional bad guy team as antagonists, I guess TR is a necessity. Besides, last time they disappeared, we got the travesty that is Best Wishes.

Okay, I asked this myself since AG as far as I remember... Plot-wise they could be written off easily since they don't contribute as much.
However Rocket-dan contribute to comical moments and for sure make otherwise bland episodes watchable, and even fun sometimes.
Sincerely, this show's been lacking creativity and\or sense nowadays...

No, they shouldn't.

...but to they're too important/popular, so we're stuck with them :dead:

XY's Team Rocket has been a mixed bag for me. They have some of the charm they had before BW, but also some of the charm feels forced (their relationship with Inkay and Pumpkaboo), and Meowth doesn't do as much stuff as in past series. They also feel shoehorned in some episodes.

However, they deserve to continue, they are an integral thing of the series like it was said above. Brock was replaced because they didn't wanted to have only one new character in a series, while Team Rocket doesn't hinder anyone. Even If the producers create a Team Rocket 2.0, the new trio wouldn't have many backstories, dynamics and rooms for improvement as Jessie, James and Meowth, a lot of things have been built with them as characters over the years.

The possibility of Team Rocket being removed from the anime is lower than the chances of Deep Jungle appearing in a future Kingdom Hearts game (and that is teetering at 0% guys!).

Knowing the anime writers, they will be on the show for as long as said show remains on the air, with them no closer to finally capturing Pikachu then they were nearly 20 years ago. I'm just surprised that they're not contradicting their backstories, as last week's episode outright reminded us that James' love of collecting bottle caps hasn't been forgotten by the writers.

Well I definitely see them being in every future main series anime, they rarely differ from the norm, even if Biff (purposely spelt) and Cassidy decide to make a return, I'm sure Jessie's ego will have a problem with that too, as they've always been side rockets for the anime.

I don't have a problem if they return, I mainly enjoy Meowth out of the three anyway. Just please DON'T give them the treatment they got in BW, that was going somewhere good, and then they fell back into their old selves.

I'm not a genwunner in any sense (even though that's irrelevant to what series I may enjoy) but I preferred the TRio from Kanto through Hoenn in the series. I rarely complain about voice actors these days, but NOTHING will compare to how good their characters were portrayed back then, it's like they've had brain transplants in the newer episodes.

Musashi, Kojiro and Nyasu definitely should stay until the every end of the series. No matter what some haters are saying, they're important - they make a half of the show! (to me they make a full show, but the official opinion says half, so oh well XD) They're funny, cool, charming, touching... And they never stop surprising and amazing me. I love everything about them.

Sometimes I'm only annoyed that Pokemon doesn't do them enough enough justice, because there's so much potential about them, especially their backstories that tbh bring more questions than answers. Imo they not only should stay in the anime, they also deserve more screentime (and TR episodes written by Junki Takegami dammit!). I wish they could get a spin-off anime.

PS. I didn't think someone could be seriously questioning their necessity in the anime after BW :p

I think it would be interesting to see them briefly fall in with another villain team.

I say NO MORE JESSIE, JAMES, AND MEOWTH!!! But keep an Ash vs Team Rocket feud going by having him feud with Giovanni.

No, I think Team Rocket should go. I am kind tired of seeing them. I wish we can have one generation without them in it but the writers are not going to do that unfortunately.

I know they won't every get rid of them since they're very popular. But I won't really miss them if they don't appear one day. I don't really hate them, but having to see Ash deal with the same old Team Rocket in the same old way blasting off by the same old Thunderbolt...is already redundant. Pokemon Chronicles Crystal had different members of Team Rocket as the villains. There was Hunter J. And then there's the ME specials where Team Flare acts as the main antagonist. As long as they have a well thought-out plot, any evil team should do. It doesn't have to be Jessie James and Meowth to serve as villains for the show to steal Pikachu.
