Should the 5th gen girl be a breeder?

It would be a change, she could look up to Brock and he could be her guider and train her. They could do some thing different with Ash and this girl, maybe she could gain a crush on Ash or some thing. Or maybe she could try to rival at Ash at things I don't know.

It would be a nice change, considering both Haruka and Hikari have been coordinators. But I don't want to see the 5th gen girl have a baby Pokémon and have her entire world revolve around the baby Pokémon and never let it battle. It would be Jouto Kasumi all over again... x_x

It's really a little early to be asking this, no? But regardless, I don't want the fifth gen girl - I'd prefer it if we see the fifth Gen dude. No idea what he'd be though.

I'd certainly hope so. They make it look like all girls care about is beauty and not POWER! we have had a real woman since misty!

And in what way is Kasumi a 'real woman' compared to Haruka or Hikari? Need I remind you that she was just as prone to going gaga over cute things as well? All three of them have a goal - Contests require a certain degree of skill and strength, you know.

I really strongly hope they either kept Dawn or return May for 5th gen. I really have enough of these main girl switch. But, if there must be 5th gen girl in anime, then I really beg writers to think something else for her then both coordinator and breeder. We don't need neither yet another May and Dawn nor female version of Brock, do we?

I said *Jouto* Kasumi. She was fine in Kanto, but in Jouto, she was basically a talking part of the background. She became boring, no thanks to Togepi.

I'm kind of curious if the girls are going to continue to go in the direction they have.

There's been a noticeable transition to more girly and shoujo- like female characters in the anime. Sure, we have Zoey as a foil to Dawn, but meh.

Anyway it doesn't really matter to me what role the next female character has, (as long as its not a third coordinator, two is enough), as long as she's entertaining and contributes to the show, that is good enough.

We can't have two breeders on the main cast.

FAIL'D!

And yes, I am completely aware we are referring to Gen Five, my friends, but thus...like the continuous paradox of the ourobous, devouring it's own tail with it's mouth representing the eternal repetition of the universe, so too does Brock trascend the common boundaries of "seasons".

EPIC fail'd.

main trainer - breeder - coordinator is the standard.
they could try to fit a ranger there, but I think it wouldn't work out. so stick with the coordinator, or come up with something new.

I'll never understand why they made Brock a Breeder when the main job of a breeder is to stand around on a farm while Pokemon have sex. It's not an occupation you can work into a cartoon, nor one that's interesting while traveling.

Brock's job is more like a Pokémon caretaker really. The job doesn't earn you badges or ribbons. No, the only reward you get out of it is a healthy, happy and well-raised Pokémon.

It's only called a "Breeder" because it's the closest title they can come up with for that job description. Same thing could be said for "Coordinator".

Anyway, the reason why they don't have a female breeder is because a female breeder would supposedly prepetuate the stereotype that most girls are motherly and are willing to look after small animals/children. Having a male character do this would be a plus for parents who want good role models in the cartoons their children watch.

Awe come on would two breeders in the same group be really that bad? Oh well. I just want some thing different yah know? Contests gets boring if its the same thing over and over agian with new girls, if its the same girl fine but new girl, new girl, new contests meh.

That's exactly what the writers did when they had Misty mother Togepi for the bulk of her run. And then they followed up with a baby Azurill after that.

And then there's May's infant Pokemon like Eevee, although its not a helpless infant like the others.

So really, what's the difference?

Was raising those Pokémon the sole reason of their appearence in the anime?

Is being a Coordinator the sole reason for Haruka's and Hikari's appearances in the anime?

possibly, but they got that whole "co-star" character thing going with their contest arc.

What sort of storyline can you expect with a Breeder? I find it strange how people say Brock is boring because what he does is dull to them, yet they want a second character to do the exact same thing.

I actually wouldn't mind a Pokemon Ranger on the cast for a short time. It would give the show a new goal for a main character.

The only reason that probably never happened is because Ranger is a spinoff game, so the writers don't think its important enough to have a main character do it.
