Should the old episodes get remastered to the current animaton?

No no, leave them the way they are. It keeps the vintage late 90's feel of those episodes.

No, no.

I'm fine with the idea but who needs re-mastering? They're perfect as they are.

Plus, have you seen the flashbacks? They look horrid, or at least awkward, in those Kanto/Johto flashbacks, 'specially Brock.

NOOOOO!

That would be like remastering the Star Wars movie to match the prequels. You just don't do it.

No, just no.
The old episodes looked a lot cooler than the new ones do (in terms of style).

Less with the nostalgia, but...

We're talking 500+ episodes to go remaster. You might as well wait for the series to end before even considering it. *and then, we can have a Kai of our own, lol*

Older episodes's animation has their own beauty. Doing this will destroy what the old episodes themselves really are.

Dude, that's ridiculous. Do you have any idea how long it would take to have these things remastered?

This. The time used to remaster them could be put to better things such as the current series itself.

Also, why would such crap like Kanto deserve remastering isn't the old animation part of their charm?

The older series are hand-made art! Hand-celled animation. Seeing it like this, NO WAY JOSE.

There are way too many episodes in standard format (it was only until last year that they changed the aspect ratio). And even if you were to keep the ratio the same and change the animation, there are way too many hand-drawn animated episodes to even consider the remastered treatment.
The animation should never be changed; there is something to the 90's animation that made the series stand out a lot.

Why?

Do you realize how long it would take to update 500+ episodes? It'd be a waste of money when they are working on new episodes to bring in even more money. Sure, it'd be nice but they care more about money than their fans.

Yes.

I don't have a reason why, I just felt like saying the opposite of what everyone else was saying.

Well, Dragonball did it, and it got some pretty good results. I'm sure Pokemon would get some too so yes. Also, younger fans could watch the old episodes.

I'm saying no too, but... what if they only did the non-digital paint episodes? That's still, like, the first 250 or so, but...

Buy the DVDs, watch Boomerang, and use the internet.

Or Pokemon Sunday... (on TV in Japan- I don't know how they determine which episodes to rerun, but whatever...)

Also, wasn't the DB series long finished by then?

Yeah, it ended over ten years before Kai aired. The reason it was brought back was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of DBZ's debut.

And Dragonball Kai's redrawn scenes look like shit most of the time, for that matter.

Not to mention Dragonball Z's filler mostly consisted of drawn-out scenes and tons of little cuts away from the action, while Pokemon is almost completely episodic, so there's no real way to "re-cut" the series.

Monthly themes. June's theme is "Shinji", so look forward to Shinji episodes.
