Should the Pokemon Adventures Manga have an Anime Adaption?

For many of us who have read the manga, we know that Pokemon Adventures is nothing like the anime that currently exists. It presents Pokemon in a much different light, and also targets a more mature audience, as well. The manga depicts Pokemon in a much darker way than the current anime does. The evil organizations are much more powerful, and even some of the gym leaders will get involved with it (more than just Giovanni). They actually present a real and intimate threat to the world! Also, there are several instances of characters coming thisclose to death, making for a captivating and enjoyable read. If you have not read the Manga, I recommend that you try it out. It is well worth it.

In any case, would you guys like to see an Anime Adaption of the pokemon manga? I think it would provide for a different, more serious look at the Pokemon Universe that anyone who has not read the manga has seen before.

Maybe if they did a crossover with the main Pokémon anime show, like a Turtles Forever or Crisis on Infinite Earth scenario, I would be happy to see the Adventures adapted onto an anime format.

But in all seriousness, while it would offer a different interpretation of the Pokémon world, it would also open the question of whether the other Pokémon manga series should be adapted as well. There are many Pokémon adaptation to go by. And while adapting the first few arcs of the Adventures manga would be kinda cool, it would be bit harder to do the later series given the author's tendency to make it full-comic continuity wielding that a regular reader would get lost in (especially when accounting for all the remakes). And the battles in the first few arcs (especially Pika vs Onix or Red vs Blue) are rather lackluster and underwhelming when compare to the main anime battles. Not to mention that Pokémon is also about the Pokémon as well as the trainers, and thus there should be episodes dedicated to just Pokémon and their relationship to the main characters (enough to at least warrant their own page on Bulbapedia).

I am not sure about adapting the Pokémon Adventures manga as an anime, since it would be much more easier and practical for Gamefreak to simply reboot the main anime series and start off with a new story updated to the modern standards of Pokémon these days then do an adaptation of a long running manga series that held some of the odd Gen I quirks that only veteran fans are familiar or fond of. Not saying it wouldn't happen since Gamefreak could do it as tribute like they did with Pokémon Origins (although that OVA had new promotional elements of Gen VI). Right now, the only thing I would like to see in regards to an anime adaptation of Adventures is a crossover with the main anime series (especially in light of that XY Mirror Episode and the fact it's the 20th anniversary of Pokémon).

From the company's perspective, It's not going to happen, they aren't gonna spend many bucks of money on a bunch of OVAs that doesn't promote anything but the manga itself, and that could bring in the main anime's kid audience creating a dark and mature image of the franchise and hurting sales everywhere.
From a personal perspective, I would be OK with it, but the reason is that I want to see the game characters in new and innovative scenarios rather than because I have some urge to read the Adventures manga.

I hope not, in all seriousness. I'd like and wait for an adapt based solely on the games, but not manga... Something like Origins but longer'd be nice.

As much as I like Pokemon Adventures, I think that the fanbase overhypes it quite a bit. I wouldn't say that it targets a more mature audience or that it's a lot darker than the anime. Pokemon Adventures is still aimed at kids, just like with the anime. The battles are more intense and there are some darker twists with some of the villains, but I wouldn't say that the series as a whole is so much darker than the anime. Battles are more intense and dangerous than they tend to be in the anime, other than the movies, but again, it is still clearly aimed at children. Even examples like Arbok being cut in half don't really have much weight when there was a line in Yellow saying that it recovered, quite possibly to avoid parents complaining about Pokemon actually being killed in battle.

As for the question itself, I personally wouldn't mind it. While the R/B/G arc of Adventure was short and didn't have too many good battles to start off with, it would be pretty neat to see the characters in animated form and they could expand on events and characters to flesh them out some more. Although, I don't think it's going to happen. Despite how fans consider Adventure to be the primary Pokemon manga, there are a lot of Pokemon manga titles out there, which would make people wonder why another series didn't get adapted into an anime. Plus, it would take them a long time to get to any recent games, which would be counterproductive to what the anime is intended to do in the first place. They aren't going to spend money into creating a new series that doesn't promote a new game or feature when they have the main series. The most we could hope for would be an OVA or something along the style of Origins where they could showcase an older game while still incorporating a new aspect of the game into the mix at the end. If it wasn't for Mega Charizard X and Mega Evolution in general, I don't think we would have gotten Origins, at least not before the 20th anniversary at best.

It would be cool to see Adventures animated since there are plenty of good stories, characters and battles in the many arcs, but it just isn't going to happen for various reasons.

ABSOLUTELY! Especially the Black & White saga which I think is the best. Black and White had such a great relationship together. They're really cute together.
