Should there be a proper Pokemon League?

Ok, I don't think this thread has been done before so I really want to know. Do you guys think that there should be a proper Pokemon League in the games?

And by that I mean where you have to face other trainers and come out on top before you can even get anywhere near the Elite 4. In other words just like the anime where there's a qualifying round and then the actual tournament itself where if you win you get to face the Elite 4 and then the Pokemon League Champion.

Mainly because I feel something is lacking when you just get your 8th badge and then suddenly have to face the Elite 4. Having a tournament like in the anime would not only make the game feel more realistic, it would also be much more fun and make it longer.

What do you guys think?

Besides, that's how the anime does it. The games came first. So the anime is doing it wrong.

I'm a he . And yeah, thats what I mean. Let there be a main league you have to win before you face the Elite 4. If you lose at anytime in the main league, you gotta qualify for it again.

Oh hell, yes!! I've always wanted a league like in the anime *---*U Fight with other trainers like a competition and you would win if you get to win in the finals :3U I think that it's so much more interesting than fight with E4. You could fight with E4 when you had win the league too :3 But I prefer a league with a lot of trainers, semifinals, final...etc xDU

But... that would just be the same as what we currently have? A "proper league" would still just be battles against some trainers.

I would love to have that. I mean we do fight trainers before facing elite 4. But those are just trainers on the way. It would be much cooler IMO to have no trainer at all on victory road. Instead have them all arranged in the league and fight them in a more appropriate place.

Yeah, I think there should be a proper league in the games. Maybe the winner of the entire tournament would have the chance to take on the Elite 4 and the Champion.

Na that would suck.. Every pokemon game i play when i get the elite four my pokemon are always like 9 levels under the elite four so its hard to beat them for the first time and i run outa money.. I like to keep my pokemon even levels instead of just using 1 or 2 like some people.. Training them to get higher levels also gets boring, why ? Because Victory road pokemon are to low and to limited in types... Imagin leveling a 34 steelix who doesnt have ground attacks and all you fight are rock and ground types lol.. That would take forever..

I always thought of victory road as the "qualifying" round because you battle trainers in victory road are also trying to get to the elite four, but if they lose, then they're out.
