I'm not completely sure if this exists, if it does please delete it.

Moving on, would you like for the games to show you the real stats of your Pokemon? For example after your Pokemon gets Intimidated by a Gyarados or if your Alakazam uses Calm Mind, to show what the stat is actually on. I think this would be very useful. Also if you can think of something to add on, please do.

What would be the point in knowing? We know the values by which these stats increase and unless you're planning to punch the numbers in a calculator every time you attack...

I've actually wished for that a few times. It wouldn't be hard to change the numbers on the status screen - they could be in green text if raised and in red if lowered, or they could have a +n or -n next to the raw stats so you could see both the base and how much they've been changed. I'd also like to see some kind of notation for confusion, infatuation, cursed, etc.

I would probably do that... at least once... if real time stats were done. ;o;

I wouldn't care to know the exact stats (maybe Speed if you're a real nut with priority for your lead-offs). But notations for how many stages of increase/decrease you're experiencing would be nice. ^x6 Spd; vx3 Atk; that sort of thing.

So tedious though D=

Even when I was a competitive battler I just went with "2HKO with this attack, 3HKO if holding lefties..."

Interesting feature.
But when a Pokemon's stats are boosted, I tend to calculate the Pokemon's current stats in my head.

So is there any reason for the casual gamer just entering the franchise? Either way its just confusing numbers, especially when you probably won't get to see your opponent's stat ups, making calculations pointless.

It also distracts from the fantasy.

I don't see how it distracts. If nothing else, it would be useful for the casual player who may have forgotten if they've used a stat-booster 5 or 6 times already, or who can't remember if their boosts got taken away or not. You're arguing that "more information is available" automatically means "the player has to do more math", which makes no sense. If you've never kept track of these things before, then this feature would not be for you - but that does not make it a bad idea.

No, I'm arguing the extra information is clutter and may overwhelm.

As for the argument of remembering whether their boosts are taken away or not, that would mean having to remember the initial values or having them shown.

It can work I guess if they present it in a visually appealing fashion like the stat distribution graph they have for contests (MS Excel 2007 calls it a radar graph) and clicking on the specific stat gives you the numerical value, and superimposing a second graph that's slightly transparent when a stat booster is applied.

Then they can give a throw away explanation like the graph being a feature of the Pokedex or that generation's Pokegear.

I gave a suggestion for a simple of displaying which stats are raised and lowered in my first post in this thread: put raised stats in green or blue and lowered stats in red, perhaps with a +n/-n next to them to show how much they've been changed. A radar graph could work too, but it would take up a lot of space, and it's not as immediately obvious just how much a stat has been changed, especially if the numbers are hidden until you tap.

Not like they don't have a lot of room considering they take up the entire bottom screen on the move selection.

this would be great. I have no idea how much moves do to stats, so to have something to show me would be great. I know, i'm a noob.

^One raise = 50 boost of given stat
Two raises = 100% boost
Three raises = 150% boost
And so one, so if you uses Swords Dance your attack is doubled, and if you uses it again your attack will be three times as high as at the start of the battle.

I get it1...kind of....thanks!

As has been said, I don't think it would be necessary as we all know the amounts by heart.

I would rather just have a status page that reviles hidden stats, namely EVs and IVs for each stat. Its pointless to hide these stats from us as we have now good methods of deciphering, so maybe Creatures could be nice and give us an easy way to see the stats.
