As I'm sure all of you who have any interest in Silph's Escape whatsoever will be well aware, the story has been put on an indefinite hiatus. I'm still optimistic in the fact that I will be able to bring it back.
Of course, I'm a little worried that by the time I do bring it back, people will no longer remember what was happening, so I'm going to post a chapter by chapter breakdown that you can read to refresh your memory!

Chapter 1:
Darren Brown’s father, Andrew, wants to move from their home town of Pewter City to the rural Saffron. Darren objects to going but eventually sees this as an opportunity to finally start his own Pokémon journey. In Saffron, he runs away from home, using the alias ‘Silph’, which is the name of his father’s new company, with his two beloved Pokémon, Moon the Clefairy and Tails the Eevee, to challenge the local Gym, the Fighting Dojo.
Chapter 2:
Darren, now known as Silph, meets an energetic, young trainer who goes by the name of Oak. Oak explains that Silph will never be able to beat the Fighting Dojo with two untrained Normal types and offers to trade him his a powerful Flying type Pokémon, Fearow, in exchange for Moon, Silph’s Clefairy.
Chapter 3:
Silph makes the trade and uses Oak’s Fearow to spectacularly defeat the Gym Leader, Kenta the Karate King. After he wins the Knuckle Badge, though, Silph thinks about what he was done, is overcome with regret and becomes determined to retrieve his Clefairy.
Chapter 4:
While flying on his new Fearow to find Oak, Silph is confronted by a girl called Agatha, who identifies herself as Oak’s rival and believes that Silph has stolen his Fearow. When she discovers the truth, she even more annoyed, frustrated that Oak gave away one of his strongest Pokémon for an untrained one as she wants to beat him in a battle when he is at his best. She promises to help Silph track down Oak and reverse the trade.
Chapter 5:
Agatha and Silph go to the Safari Zone where they find Oak. Silph uses the first name ‘John’, copying that of Oak, as he is required to enter his full name into a guestbook at the Safari Zone. When the duo meets Oak, he is reluctant to reverse the trade but agrees to reverse it if Agatha can beat him using his current team.
Chapter 6:
Oak and Agatha’s battle ensues. Agatha is revealed to be a Poison specialist. The two trainers have four Pokémon each with them. Oak defeats Agatha’s Arbok with a Kadabra. Agatha sends out a Golbat. Kadabra faints due to poisoning from its battle with Arbok. Oak sends out his newly caught Tauros, which manages to defeat Agatha’s Golbat. Agatha sends out a Muk. Muk creates an air tight vacuum around Tauros, causing it to begin suffocating. Oak begs Agatha to spare the life of his Pokémon, he will even surrender the match if he has to.
Chapter 7:
Moved by Oak’s sentiments but desperate to defeat him fairly, Agatha calls Muk away from Tauros. Tauros is defeated but not killed. Oak next calls on his Sandslash, who defeats Agatha’s Muk. Agatha’s Ivysaur manages to defeat Sandslash with a Solar Beam, which temporarily deafens and blinds Silph. He does not witness the remainder of the battle except for Oak’s next Pokémon, a Primeape, knocking out Agatha’s Ivysaur. The battle is over. Agatha is defeated. Oak offers Agatha and Silph another chance to offer the trade, though. He wants a Pokémon rarer than a Clefairy. Silph cannot think of anything other than a Legendary Pokémon itself that is rarer than a Clefairy so elects that, in order to get Moon back, he must catch a Legendary Pokémon.
Chapter 8:
Agatha allows Silph to look for Pokémon in the Safari Zone because he reminds her of her first Safari Game. Silph fails to catch a male Nidoran while Agatha successfully catches a Nidorina. She offers him the Nidorina but he says no. Agatha’s Golbat manages to retrieve the Nidoran and Silph adds it to his team.
Chapter 9:
Silph names his Nidoran ‘Sting’ and his Fearow, which he figures he will now be keeping either way, ‘Driller’. Agatha takes Silph to a hostel in Cinnabar so that they can track down the Legendary bird, Moltres, and trade it to Oak, but Silph doesn’t have anywhere near enough money for a journey away from home so Agatha pays for him, declaring that he will give her every penny that comes his way until his debt is paid off in full. Once again he uses the name ‘John Silph’ in the guestbook. The hostel clerk has heard of his father’s company, ‘Silph Co.’ and refers to them as the creators of the Great Ball. After Agatha and Silph retire to bed, the hostel clerk is accosted by a man claiming to be Silph’s father and demanding to know whether he is there. The clerk confirms that he is and the man takes a room himself.
Chapter 10:
Silph and Agatha head up Mt. Cinnabar to hunt down Moltres. They determine that Agatha's Nidorina is Silph's Nidoran's mother and have the two train together. The two of them ascend Mt. Cinnabar and soon take a break in a cave, where they are cornered by the man from the previous chapter.
