I was visiting Serebii.net when i saw that one of Volbeats Egg-Moves, was Silver Wind. However seeing as how it can only be a male pokemon, i was wondering if anyone knows how i would go about getting a Volbeat to learn it's Silver Wind. It would be really great if you could outline the steps to take PKMN needed, etc.

P.S: It's Pokemon Emerald if that helps at all.

Just breed a compatible male that knows Silver Wind with an Illumise.
The egg will have a 50% chance of hatching into a Volbeat.

But are you sure that will work considering egg moves are passed down by the father and ILLUMISE can only be female...?

Volbeat and Illumise are one species, it's just that the genders are so different they're treated like seperate species like Nidoran.

Signal Beam > Silver Wind so it doesn't really matter anyway.

Yes, but IS THERE A WAY TO GET A VOLBEAT THAT KNOWS SILVER WIND?!?!?
I'm trying to breed it for the battle frontier, so i want it to have more than one STAB move. In short, I want a bug pokemon that knows both silver wind and signal beam. I posted this thread to find out whether or not i could get a voltbeat that knows silver wind. it is one of it's egg-moves but i didn't know how to get it to learn it's egg-moves.

Well... it learns signal beam naturally at 25, and beautifly learns Silver wind... breed that with an Illumise and hope for a boy. You could test it and find out, but it probably works

Try useing:
Butterfree
Beautifly
Dustox
They ALL learn "Silver Wind"!

I don't know why though. It's generally suicide to put more than one attacking move of a single type on a Pokemon. Especially now-a-days.
