Wikipedia's article on Silver goes into a lot more detail. I find this suprising since they normally limit info for things such as video game characters. Their article is, in my opinion better.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_(Pokémon_character)#In_the_games

So, obviously just taking the info and putting into Bulbapedia would be plagirism. I wanted to bring this up anyway, maybe there's something we can do about it.

The wiki article has a lot of pointless blah, but I've brought it up to par.

You're right there was some pointless stuff in there.

It looks much better now, though.

I can't recall. Was the sixth battle at Mount Moon? Or was it an additional battle?

Why is his starter "Commonly thought to be Totodile." There dosen't seem to be any evidence in game that it was. No rival ever seemed to hint at what the "true" starter was.

Red's appearance in Mt. Silver complicates it even further, since he has all 3 starter evolutions plus Pikachu, almost making it seem as if Yellow is the canon version....

Though there is no evidence in the games (as per the Rival Clause, your rival takes the Pokemon that is strong against your starter), Pokemon Special has Silver starting out with Totodile (before Gold has his Cindaquil, as well).

Raikou Special's Silver , however, seemed to have no "offical starter" (being Chikorita, Totodile, and Cindaquil) at all. If he did, it was never shown, and all three starters are accounted for in the special.

I believe Silver/Kamon may have also had Totodile in Golden Boys, but I'm not certain.

In Golden Boys, it was Chikorita that he stole and later abandoned. I don't see how any of the manga reflect on the games - the writers who made the decision of which Pokémon to give to whom had as much insight into the canon game storyline as we did, and now we have even more.

In FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald, there is a piece of internal data that not only confirms the name of the FireRed and LeafGreen's female protagonist (Leaf), but also her and Red's starter Pokémon: Bulbasaur and Charmander, respectively. It follows that rival Green's starter is Squirtle.

I would think that Gold, Kris and Silver would be made as distinct from their predecessors as possible, which would mean that Silver would have either Chikorita or Cyndaquil, but not Totodile.

I assumed that as a far as canon goes, the storyline was as such:

ThunderYellow (Yellow story/plot, but remade like FRLG) then Crystal then Emerald

ThunderYellow is not an official name. If there were to be an actual remake of Yellow, it would be called LightningYellow, seeing as how lightning is yellow, and thunder is a sound, not something you can actually see.

Wait, what? The female protagonist is called Blue. Leaf is just one of the default names. If Blue is called Leaf, then Red is called Fire, and what would that make Green? Water?

No, the internal data has a trainer called Leaf and another called Red.

Whatever, came up with it on the spot. I personally don't think they'll be a third for FRLG.

So, the Pallet Town Trainers are Red/Leaf (who nobody really cares about) and Blue.

Why is it Leaf though? Leaf and Blue are exactly the same, just different outfits. Leaf is just a default name you can choose from many.

Why don't you ask Game Freak? Leaf and Blue are not the same, Leaf is the female trainer from FRLG that you can play as. Blue is the Viridian Gym Leader, and Red is the Mt. Silver dude.
