So I decided to check this out on Youtube the other day, and I must say I found it interesting...

- It is totally uncut and unedited, with original music in-tact. This is the single most greatest part of it.
- They use dub names though, but pronounce some of them oddly... MoeKUbah for example.
- Joey has no annoying gangster accent, and sounds like an actual teenager. Probably the best part.
- Bakura loses his british accent...and gains a southern one. WTF???
- The voices are kind of...well, they are good as they really fit the characters, but the actors need to be more expressive. Bakura and Yami Yugi are pretty bad though. Yami Yugi actually sounds like a guy his size and age should, but we trade in for a weird surfer sounding voice.
- The dialouge is faithfully translated, althouth they do it too literal sometimes.
- Bandit Keith is the "K-Man". 0.o

In short, I REALLY enjoyed this, and it is better then the 4kids dub imo, and I'm wondering why 4kids couldn't dub it like this.............

So, discuss I guess.

I believe these are the Animax (a Sony property, bah, but oh well) dubs. Not sure if it's actually dubbed in Singapore or not, but it's a possibility. The reason why it's uncut is because, well, they broadcast it in dual-audio.

I've seen the Digimon and MegaMan Battle Network Singapore versions. I didn't see enough of MegaMan to find out much, but Digimon keeps the original names and stuff, although they're not expressive enough with the voices. Yu-Gi-Oh! might be worth checking out.

I still want to see the Pokémon dub there.

Singapore uses the 4Kids dub, the same as in the U.S. (previously, they seem to be using the dub intended for outside the U.S., but they for some reason switched to the U.S. dub at the start of Advance Battle or Advance Challenge (can't remember exactly when), as evidenced by the badge case edits), although we had the Taiwanese Chinese dub for a while quite some time back. As for movies and specials, we get neither Japanese or U.S. dubs in theatres, and VCD/DVD releases are almost always (if not always) the U.S. dub; so far, only the Mewtwo Returns special (apart from other specials that aired as part of the series in the U.S. dub, such as the Lugia specials) has been aired over here.

Yeah, we suck at the Pokémon part :( . Ironically, though, we get a lot of the Japanese merchandise, and McDonalds earlier this year had a collection of Pokémon toys that included a Lucario (I mentioned somewhere that I have the whole collection...), before the official U.S. announcement (they got the name right too) Oo .

Oh. So they used to have the sorta uncut Canada/Britain version? Canada rocks when it comes to Pokémon. Less edits, we see them before the US, except for the fact that it got cancelled during the Hoenn League Tournament, and now that they're showing it again, they're far behind, and show no signs of picking up anything by PUSA. The few of us who had Kids' WB (like me before I recently moved) have already seen the new ones, though, and I watch Battle Frontier on the Internet.

Also, are the US edits on your DVDs? 'cause they aren't in the US.

Or are you saying there is a seperate non-4Kids English dub out there?!?

Nope, as far as I know, we only get the 4Kids dub and the Taiwanese Chinese dub on VCD/DVD here (the Taiwanese dub seem to have disappeared after early Kanto though...). The original Japanese version might be available too in DVD, but I have never seen it here.

And we are starting to get the U.S. edits after they switched to the U.S. version for some reason, yes. Previously, there were no "U.S. exclusive" edits (such as the badge case edit, which is probably the best way to tell).

What's different about the badge cases? I watched it on WB because they came on before YTV.

can some please post the youtube link for the yu-gi-oh singapore dub
