Kinda got the idea From Gible's thread on the Grand festival....How do you think the league will turn out

winners
losers
who will go up aganist each other

My Thoughts

I personally think that Ash is going to final tournament by beating conway/nando

Barry and Ash won't battle but Barry and Paul will an Paul will destroy him...

Ash will get to the final by batting filler character/league rival

Paul vs Ash for final match

Ash wins and faces the E4 shorty after

What about you guys

My only sure speculation:
Ash vs Paul 6 on 6 leage battle is going to be the best battle in the series.

My guess is that Ash will beat two of Nando, Conway, and Barry on his way to facing Paul. Ash will beat Paul in an epic top 8 showdown (this is pretty much guaranteed given the buildup), but lose in the top 4 to the eventual champion.

I foresee Ash's best league finish yet, but he's not going to win the whole thing. He probably won't win a league tournament until they're ready to end the series - they'll find some excuse to have "LOL I WON THE LEAGUE I AM A POKEMON MASTER! ROAR!" after the final arc.

i think pual will battle ash but unsure of the outcome
who ever wins i feel like either will get to the top 4 or 8 but loss the finals or top4

i think nando will come outta no where and smash the grand festival & league leav'in everone with envy happiness & sincereness

so basicly what Andyman said

He's at the end of the opening with Satoshi's other league rivals.

I think Ash'll win this time, but probably lose to the League Champion, but there's no shame in that. I think he'll finally beat Paul, but it'll be epic. They've done the whole, Ash beats a rival then loses to a random character before, they've done the rival beats Ash then wins or loses in the final round. I think they're setting up Ash's team as his strongest yet (well season spanning team) so I think it'd be satifying for him to finally win the league.

One sure fire thing though, Paul's Ursaring will probably be defeated by Infernape...

Yeah, since that's a recurring trend. Electabuzz/'vire will either lose to Pikachu or Infernape.

Paul will probably have Torterra, Electabuzz/'vire Magmortar, Weavile, Ursaring, and Honchkrow. Since his change-ups failed miserably against Brandon, it's safe to assume that he'll be using his regular attack force.

Ash may call for reinforcements from Oak and Liza. He will probably use Pikachu, Infernape, Staraptor, and possibly his own Torterra... but he'll likely need backup in the form of Charizard, Sceptile, Donphan, Glalie (who needs more screentime), and/or Heracross. But if Gible evolves into Gabite... then maybe he won't.

Ash will beat Paul, advance to the top four, and then lose to the eventual champion. But i would be very disapointed if he didnt reach the top four

Ash may beat Nando on his way too, and then maybe Nando will decide that its best for him to be a co ordinator.

Ash will use his sinnoh pokes only.

I don't want Ash to only use his Sinnoh Pokemon. That would be rather dull. I don't want a repeat of the Hoenn league, where we got three random rivals thrown at us and Ash only used his Hoenn team. It could have been a lot better... it sort of felt like there was nothing on the line.

With the Ash vs Paul rivalry... I have high expectations. It'll be tough to top Ash vs Gary in the Silver Conference, though.

Might as well pitch in...

First, The Greatest everyday leads me to believe that Ash will face Conway, Barry, Nando and Paul. Since the Leagues has 32 competitors for the full battle rounds (the 6-on-6 battles), it means that Ash would be able to defeat all of them without winning the League... Also, if we go by the openning, the pokemon Ash will use for the League are Pikachu, Staraptor, Torterra, Buizel, Infernape, Gible, Muk, Snorlax, Bayleaf, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Noctowl, Donphan, Corphish, Torkoal

Conway reminds me of those early league opponents of Kanto and Johto, like Jeanette or Macey in the sense that he has a distinctive battle style. So I either see him as a preliminary opponent for Ash or his first full battle round opponent (I'm leaning towards the latter as I don't think there'll be a lot of spotlight on Ash's preliminary battles this time). Conway will try to dazzle Ash with precise strategies and lots of status moves like protect. This is where Ash will throw his first curve ball and use some of the weirder and unpredictable pokemon in his arsenal. Probably Muk, Bayleef, Totodile, Torkoal, Staraptor and Gible(if Gliscor comes back, it'll come back here in Gible's place) instead of relying on pure power..

Then, in the round of 16 full, Ash will battle Nando. Throughout Sinnoh gym battles, Ash has been inspired by Dawn's combinations and contest moves and has participated in 2 contests himself... This is gonna come in handy here since he's facing a coordinator. Nando's battle style will be a mix of battle and contest moves, so look for an Ash and Dawn training session before this match and Ash pull moves that he's seen Dawn perform in the Grand Festival here. Here, Ash will use pokemon that can mimic Dawn's contest style... Oh look Buizel used to belong to Dawn... guess who's gonna be in this battle. Dawn has a cyndaquil and so does Ash... coincidence ? (No HGSS promotion but still) No. Basically, here ash will use pokemon that mirror pokemon we've seen in contests, so I predict Pikachu (Dawn's Pachirisu), Buizel (participated in Wallace Cup, Ice aqua jet), Cyndaquil (mirror Dawn's), Gible (mirrors Ursula's Gabite), Glalie (mirrors Dawn's Mamoswine and buneary) and Donphan (mirrors Dawn Mamosine)

In the quarterfinals, Ash will battle Barry. Mirror effect as Barry's team follows Ash's pattern of Fire-Water-Grass-Bird + two random types... Writers know this, so the battle with Barry will keep this pattern, but switch the pokemon around... Ash will use Infernape (mirrors Barry hypothetical Rapidash, has previously lost to Empoleon), Torterra (Barry's roselia), Pikachu (has fought against Barry before...), Noctowl (Barry's Staraptor), Corphish (Barry's Empoleon), Snorlax (Barry's eventual Snorlax).

In the semifinals, Ash will face Paul with only his Sinnoh pokemon so Pikachu, Infernape, Torterra, Buizel, Gible, Staraptor and Gible against Paul's Torterra, Weavile, Honchcrow, Electivire, Magmortar and Ursaring. As far as the match ups for that match...

- Gible won't defeat any of Paul's pokemon
- Buizel will defeat Ursaring
- Ash's Torterra will defeat Paul's Honchcrow but be defeated by Paul's Torterra or Magmortar
- Pikachu will defeat Magmortar
- Staraptor will defeat Weavile
- Infernape will defeat Electabuzz-ivire
- Final two pokemon : Ash's Infernape vs Paul's Torterra... Blast Burn debut, Ash wins.

In the finals, Ash might win and go on to challenge the Elite 4 or lose and go straight to Pallet town... it could go either way

As for Elite 4 speculation, we'll cross that bridge when we get there...

No problem. Eventually, I would have started a similar thread, but I wanted to wait until Ash got his 8 badges and we had more information, like the league location, beforehand.

I highly doubt he'll win the league anyway, but I could see him winning the League, but losing against Cynthia.
