A factory worker with a reputation for not getting along with co-workers went on a shooting spree at a Kentucky plastics plant early today after getting into an argument with his supervisor, police told ABC News. The gunman killed five other employees before shooting himself to death, police said.

A seventh person who was wounded is listed in critical condition.

According to police, the employee got into an argument with a supervisor around midnight and used a hand gun, which he retrieved during a break, to shoot other workers seemingly at random.

"We do know the suspect brought the handgun after an argument with a supervisor," Lt. David Piller of the Henderson, Ky., police department told ABC's "Good Morning America."

"We don't know for sure what the motivation was behind this. We do know he did have an argument earlier with a supervisor. We don't know if that played a part in this or not. We're still following up on that," Piller said.

"As far as any other motivation may be, we know that he's had some problems with other employees in the past."

The victims were scattered throughout the Atlantis Plastics factory in Henderson, a town of about 28,000 people.

Of the seven people found by police with gunshot wounds, only one has survived. The victim has been airlifted to Deaconnes Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Police have yet to release the identities and genders of the shooter or the victims. Piller said that the supervisor was one of the gunman's shooting victims, but it wasn't clear whether he was among the dead.

The plant employs about 150 people and makes parts for refrigerators and plastic siding for homes. Employees have been sent home for the day.

I think America is going to gun - happy these days. Too many shootings happened over the past years, and it's really disturbing. I mean, when I read about the school shooting in Columbia, I was shocked and disturbed, yet now, such news seems to be like an everyday event...a little creepy if you ask me.

Sadly, the American reaction to these sort of things usually isn't "We need stricter gun laws", but more "those idiots at the plant should have carried guns with them at all times so they could take down any threat just like an Action Hero!"

Gives me more reason to be ashamed of where I live...a murder just happened not too long ago a few blocks from my house. I don't understand the mindset of killing, especially when it's an argument such as in this case- you can't shoot or stab someone and think it'd solve anything. No one would pat them on the back and say "good job, thank you!" afterwards. Either they kill themselves like the pussies they are, or are hauled off to prison like they should be. I know sense can be thrown out the window when you're angry, but, oh I dunno...

Something I was surprised about in the aftermath of the Virginia Tech Shooting was the fact that people suggested more security guards instead of reviewing gun laws!

People are a bunch of pussies, going psycho over the smallest things. Ane xample would be this girl I accidentally bumped into at the subway station, where everyone, and I mean everyone was getting of because it was the last stop. She tries to push me out of the way, but really, there was no room, then she soves me and I nearly crush the little old woman infront of me, and she goes of swearing.

This guy gets into an arguement with his boss, then kills random people. Perhaps other factors were in play, like hiss personal life, but still. Utter stupidity. He killed himself anyway, why take the lives of people who actually wanted to live?

ITs not even that whole "America has loose gun laws" thing that is annoying me. Its that people get ticked off so easily. I'm wondering if we shold even be called homo sapien sapien anymore. As far as I can tell, people rarely, if ever, think about their actions.

People are stupid and makes me ashamed to be human.

Take into account the fact that modern life is more complex than it used to be. That results in pressure that sometimes can drive a man into madness. I said madness, so I am implying that shooting other people is wrong and stupid, totally. I'm not defending them, I'm just trying to somehow rationalize the reason behind it. I live in Calgary, Canada. A few weeks ago, a guy went nuts and shot everyone in his house, including himself. Sad.

Of course, without doubt the loose gun laws are a huge factor. It somehow became a tradition to settle things with guns and force, unfortunately. Education and extreme punishment for those who violate the laws should be good ways to start to solve this issue. Maybe lowering taxes too ;p

You make it sound as if you never felt pressure or went through depression, and maybe you didn't. But let me tell you, when everyone around you enjoys verbally (and physically) attacking you, you will want to kill everyone around you, because you just won't be able to keep all that range and frustration bottled up. It's all psychological.

Also most people are paranoid, like maybe the girl you bumped into. She could have though that you bumped her on purpose, or maybe that you were a sexual predator. Whenever I end up being pushed into someone on the subway (which is almost everyday were I live), my first though is "Please don't let him be some sort of maniac." The world we live in now is dangerous, people end up being overly careful.

Please note that I'm NOT approving, or defending the actions of such people, I'm just stating why some people might act this way.

People are stupid and makes me ashamed to be human.

I'm not going the argue with that one, but I think we have different views on stupidity.

Thank goodness we changed our laws after one massacre.

How many of these is it going to take for them to change in the U.S.?

So very sad. :-(
