Alright, I now I've said to some people in the past, academy RPs aren't exactly my thing, but I decided to try my own anyway, because I thought this will be fun.
This is based off Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, mainly the console version. You don't need to have played to know them though.
That said, I REALLY need a Co-GM that has done an academy style RP before, because this is my first time GMing one, so I could use the help. Anyway, I should point out this isn't JUST an academy RP, missions and heroic adventures will be involved. So, moving on, plot:
Plot: Skylands has been rebuilt, and Kaos defeated once again. However, Skylands was left with a problem as a result, Eon is still a spirit, and his apprentice, while able, is but one person, with a life of their own on the planet known as Earth. In addition, new evil forces now strike out over Skylands, seeking to fill the power vacuum left by Kaos' defeat. The Skylanders are outnumbered by this new surge of villainy in Skylands, which was becoming a problem even before Kaos' assault, as Eon had become the last Portal Master and the effects were beginning to show.
The solution? Recruit more Portal Masters and more Skylanders. As it turns out, Earth has quite a few with the potential to become Portal Masters, and many are willing to make a connection to Skylands to learn their trade. In addition, after the Skylander's inspiring fight back from the brink against Kaos, many young heroes have decided to try their hands at becoming Skylanders. While the Skylanders are not picky about membership, so long as one is willing to fight for the forces of good, but these new warriors have little true experience in combat and what it means to be a hero. So thus, a school has been founded to train these new heroes for battle, and the new Portal Masters to take up their duties.
Rules:
Normal Rules Apply.
Go wild when if comes to characters. If you've read the background info on the Skylanders, or seen many of their designs, there is a huge variety of designs, origins, and powers they have. So long as you give them an Elemental alignment (see here Elements (Skylanders) - The Spyro Wiki - Spyro, Sparx, The Legend of Spyro, Skylanders, and more ) which really doesn't effect their powers too much, seeming to mainly deal with origins. So long as you don't make someone a Game Breaker, you're fine.
Skylanders from the games are teachers, you may choose any of them to be teachers and you can choose their subject. To see the histories of the characters, look here: Skylanders - The Spyro Wiki - Spyro, Sparx, The Legend of Spyro, Skylanders, and more
The original Skylanders sort of function as the Justice League in Young Justice, they teach the students, send them on missions, but generally do not go on missions except special ones, they have their own missions that go unseen, this focuses on their students.
YOU ARE A CHARACTER. This is important, YOU are a character, you're a Portal Master learning at the school. You're not PHYSICALLY there, but can speak and hear everything going on around your Skylanders, but not anything they couldn't hear. You can interact with characters in the game world vocally as well as one another.
There will be TWO separate RPing styles here. One is the academy itself, the other are privite RPS that will be posted separately detailing missions you're on. When you accept a mission presented, your character leaves the main RP and goes on the mission, not being a part of the game until they return.
You can have as many characters as you want, so long as you can keep track of them.
If you're defeated in battle (IE, get a killing blow in battle), you're transferred back to the school. If you have a Skylander still remaining, you can switch them up and pick up where the original left off.
Remember, you're rookies, you're GOING TO FAIL SOMETIMES. Not all missions will end with you victorious. At first, the Main Antagonists will be far outside of the students league and likely mope the floor with them in a straight fight for realism. However, this does NOT mean the characters have zero chance of succeeding, depending on the villains' plan. There will be VERY few missions you have no chance of succeeding in, and even then, only for story line purposes.
DO NOT JOIN UNLESS YOU'RE PLANNING TO STAY ON!!! I'M SICK OF PEOPLE JOINING AN RP AND THEN DISAPPEARING WITHOUT A TRACE! IF YOU'RE GOING TO LEAVE, THEN PLEASE TELL US SO WE CAN RETIRE YOUR CHARACTERS!! Sorry for the bold text and large font, but I'm seriously sick of that happening.
Have fun!
If you read all these rules, write "For Skylands!" at the top of your post!

My Characters:
Name: Cynder
Class: Combat: Teaching how to fight and make creative use of their abilities.
Name: Drobot
Class: Battlefield Tactics: Were Cynder teaches the battle tactics, he teaches skills to use on the battlefield outside of fighting, such as infiltration.
Name: Denku (Denki (Electric in Japanese) Sukanku (Skunk in japanese)
Element: Tech
Age: Teen
Description: Denku is a skunk-like creature about the size of the average dragon type in Skylanders. She has longer limbs and generally more fearsome appearance, but still black with white fur, having blue eyes. However, she also looks very shy and kindly normally. She wears blue armor over her chest, head, and bracers on her arms and legs, with blue armor covering her underbelly, with black cables running from the chest armor to each, and her tail. Her stripes are still visible and turn yellow when she uses her powers. Her eyes are blue.
Powers: Denku has the ability to channel electricity through her body, but cannot generate or control it's flow, thus requiring her special harness that generates it and controls it's flow. At present she can only electrify her claws and teeth shoot a lightning bolt from her tail tip, which she has yet to learn how to control. Her armor can also modify her natural musk into a foul smelling smokescreen she can spray either from the base of her tail or from her mouth, it can also presumably create other chemical weapons, but her suit would require modifications. She can also, naturally, spray like a skunk without her musk being modified, only she can also do it from her mouth. She can also turn into electricity to move rapidly for short bursts of time, but has zero control over this power at present, resulting in her going out of control and crashing into something when she tries to use it.
Weapon: She has razor-sharp claws with metal blades that make them sharper, though their true purpose is to channel her powers. She also has sharp teeth she can use in combat.
Portal Master Partner: Godzillawolf
Flaws: Denku is naturally shy, timid, and somewhat easily frightened. She also has poor aim that needs serious improvement, reducing most of her powers to being used at close range at present. She also has a naturally foul odor that gets considerably worse the more nervous she gets. This fact does embarrass her quite a bit.
Personality: Denku is a shrinking violet, she's shy, timid, and scares rather easily. She's also self-conscious and takes her failures hard. However, she's fiercely loyal to her friends and will protect them no matter what. Despite her timid nature, she's also willing to stand up to those who would harm the innocent, which is her motivation for coming to the school in the first place. She's also very sensitive about her inability to aim and her scent.
History: Denku comes from a species of beings descended from skunks, who are normally peaceful folk, but willing to defend others if they see them in trouble. Denku has always had poor aim, which for beings who have spraying musk as their primary defense, made her a common target of bullies, leading to her developing a self-conscience and timid personality. However, during an attack on her village by trolls, it was defended by the Skylander Drobot. During the fight, she saw an attacker sneaking up on the Skylander and tried to help him, only giving herself away with her poor aim. However, when attacked in return, she was knocked into an electrical generator, accidentally channeling it through her claws and slaying the troll, but remaining unharmed. Drobot, impressed by this ability, helped make her a suit to channel electricity, to allow her to make use of her strange ability. Deciding to use it to fight for others, she headed for the Academy when it opened. As an entry gift, Drobot gave her her new suit.
Name: Cyros
Element: Magic
Age: Teen
Description: Her skin is a very light blue, her face iss rather long and sly in appearance. Her deep blue horns curl around, somewhat like a goat's with a trio of spikes connected by a light blue fin running between her horns. Her tail is tipped off with a metal ax grafted to her natural bone blade to increase its use as a weapon and her rather long neck and lower front legs are adorned with a black choker decorated with white spikes. She has purple wing membranes as well. http://fav.me/d3cin4y (She's the larger one, though she'd be more like the Skylanders dragons in this one)
Powers: Being an Ice Dragon, she has the ability to manipulate ice, though at present has received little formal training and being able to fire ice shards from her mouth and breath a quick freezing vapor are her primary techniques. She can learn more.
She has a guitar with an ocean motif to it's design that can be used to cast spells using music. She's still learning the proper spells for it, and at present can only produce destructive sonic waves by playing it, but there are other spells she's yet to learn with it.
Weapon: Her claws and teeth. She also has her ax blade on her tail tip she can use effectively as a weapon.
Portal Master Partner: Godzillawolf
Flaws: Cyros actually isn't very confident at present, and often bullies other students to make herself feel better about it. She's confrontational and tends to come off as self centered. She also has difficulty trusting others.
Personality: Cyros tends to come off as selfish, egotistical, and cruel to some degree. Truth be told, she's actually very sensitive due to how her life has gone, and just doesn't want to be hurt again. She also bullies others simply to try and relieve her own emotional pain. However, she's also got a good heart and, while she is a bully at times, she genuinely wants to help innocent people who are being harmed by evil doers to make up for past sins her family has committed and prove herself a good leader. She's a good person deep down, but it'll take some digging to get that part out of her. She's also not that honorable a person, willing to fight dirty if she needs to. She's also rather manipulative and good at lying.
History: Cyros is the adopted daughter of a reformed villainous named Deadlock, a three headed dragon and queen of a race of beings called the Naga, and comes from the same land as Spyro. Cyros has a younger brother who is the crown prince of their race, a position Cyros had genuinely thought was her's due to age. Her mother, driven insane by grief for an act committed by Malefor, launched an attack in misguided revenge before being defeated by Spyro and Cynder, who were called back to deal with the attack. Her plotting for revenge caused Deadlock to neglect Cyros without realizing it, causing her to feel even more abandoned, after which she began bullying her younger brother. Deadlock was redeemed, and not wanting her daughter to follow in her footsteps, sent Cyros to the academy to learn to be a hero. Cyros still feels bitter about all this and is the resident bully of the academy, but honestly does want to be a hero.
Yes, she is heavily based off the character of the same name from my Legend of Spyro A New Dawn fic.
Name: Boss Kaze
Description: A large, muscular, bipedal weasel with reddish brown fur and red eyes. He typically wears a brown trench coat and normally has a cane. His true form is a demonic version of this with razor sharp teeth, blood red sickles in place of hands, and another one at the tip of his tail.
Minions: Weasels, essentially bipedal weasels. They're bandits that raid villages and places for plunder. They also make use of large hunting dog type creatures.
Position: Arch Villain
Powers: Kaze can move faster than the eye can see for brief periods of time. However, he can only move in a roughly straight line and cannot stop his forwards momentum without stopping completely, meaning he typically only gets one shot at each target in his path. He also needs about 10 minutes rest between speed bursts, both meaning that if the primary attack is avoided, you just need to deal with his normal abilities for that time. He is a skilled fighter, and wields a cane that can be utilized as either a staff-like weapon and conceals a sword he can pull out and wield, but generally relies on badly wounding his opponents in a dash right off the bat to put himself at the advantage. His true form not only has the sickles on his limbs and his razor sharp teeth, but the ability to produce two clones of himself. These clones have the same abilities, but can be easily dispelled in one or two attacks. His true form also has enhanced strength. Kaze is actually a spirit, which makes killing him more difficult than a purely flesh and blood creature, but not impossible.
Personality: Kaze is refined, charming, and generally seems like a gentleman at first glance. However, beneath this lays a far more sinister and sadistic personality. Kaze is overconfident and doesn't view the Skylanders as a huge threat to him. That said, he IS frightened of the higher ranked ones such as Spyro. He's also cunning and intelligent, capable of planning. Kaze does have a temper, though, and tends to lose his head if enraged. He's also got sociopathic tendencies, seeing everyone else as just as greedy as he is.
History: Kaze is the leader of a group of bandits who have recently risen in Skylands, and caused a large deal of trouble. Kaze himself hails from a distant land, and is not actually a weasel. In actuality, he's a Yokai (a type of monster) called a Kamaitachi, a spirit beast with super speed. With his bandit raid increasing in number, he will be the rookie's first real challenge.
Motive: Money
Bounty: 2000
Name: Claw, Fang, and Blaster
Description: Three bipedal weasels wearing trench coats and bowler caps. Each also has red gloves they wear as well.
Minions: Same as Kaze
Position: Criminals, but are Kaze's second in commands.
Powers: All three are skilled fighters, but Blaster prefers staying at a distance. Blaster has a large amount of explosives concealed in his trench-coat he can throw with great accuracy, normally staying at a distance and throwing them. Claw has long, razor-sharp claws concealed by his gloves and Fang has long, razor-sharp teeth he uses to bite with. They're agile and use that to their advantage in combat, all three normally fighting at once.
Personality: They are essentially similar to Kaze in base mentality, but lack his cunning. They're also a good bit more unhinged than their boss, especially Blaster. While they believe Kaze's "everyone is only out for themselves", they still work together as a team, considering it a "mutually beneficial partnership". They're also terrified of their boss.
History: Mostly the same as Kaze, as they're his second in commands.
Motive: Money
Bounty: 500 a piece.
I'll post my characters later, any takers?
