I think Ash might capture any Passimian taking on the role of the leader from the Melemele group.

The whole "Touchdown of Friendship!" part seems to definitely hint at that direction...

Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it. That's a possibility, too.

Satoshi and the others encounter a group of fighting Nagetukesaru. It appears the Nagetukesaru from Akala Island and Melemele Island were fighting over the position as boss, and that the ones from Melemele Island lost. Satoshi tries helping the ones from Melemele Island, but.

Gosh I hope Ash ends up catching that Passimian. When Passimian and Oranguru were announced I was like "Ash is going to end up getting one of them, I know it" I was definitely leaning more for Passimian though. Gosh I hope he does, it will be a great member for his team.

Honestly, with the couple of sport themed episodes we've already had in SM's lineup so far (and another one shortly after this), I don't think a capture here is wholly unreasonable to wish for. All these activities that the class keep getting into, wouldn't they be right up Passimian's alley?

I'm hoping NOT for a Nagetukesaru capture, given the fact that we just had Luchabull in XY as a Satoshi fighting-type and I like variety in what he captures. One of the reasons that I'm hoping that Bebenomu is captured properly is that Satoshi hasn't caught a single Poison-type since Kanto.

I wouldn't mind seeing Passimian being caught by Ash, but knowing how XY was written, Poipole would probably immediately take away all of the spotlight once it goes to Ash's team.

Another thing to note however, is that Poipole is already in the opening's group shots of each character, whereas Passimian is not. This pretty much denies the odds of capture for it.

the only reason I could see this not being the case is that Litten is not shown as evolved in the opening, when we know it'll evolve soon. The only reason Poipole is shown is just that it plays a major role in the show this season and if they were to add in Passimian then it would occur after editing out Litten for Torracat

This opening in particular seemed to go out of its way just to not spoil anything (besides Poipole, because it basically plays the role of protagonist of the opening). We had no human characters besides Ash and his classmates (and the brief sketches of Gladion, Kukui and Burnett, and the TRio), nor new Pokémon besides the Ultra Beasts, despite *certain characters and Pokémon* actually appearing in promotional art.

Satoshi wants to work with the Nagetukesaru that lost, but it doesn't really work out. So in order to make the Nagetukesaru make up, Satoshi turns into a Nagetukesaru himself?! The fight to decide the boss begins anew. Can Satoshi and the others win?!
