So, according to the map, the magnet train is elevated above the streets of Goldenrod. I can expect to see the tracks in Goldenrod. However, the map also shows the tracks crossing other areas of Johto (kinda like it did in the old map) My question is: Do you think that we will see these segments of the tracks when we are in these areas the rails cross on the map?

I would hope so.
But IIRC, the tracks where shown plenty places on the map with GSC, and the tracks were only seen in game in Goldenrod and Saffron, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

In the map the railroad tracks are shown just a bit off the East of Goldenrod; the only ingame playable place where yoou can see the tracks is Route 32, then it appears to go underground. So, if it will be only one route it won't be that hard to put them, I'd be thankful for that.

Not true, the tracks would be seen in Celadon City.
We haven't seen Kanto yet, so we don't know where the tracks will re-emerge in Kanto.

And I'm actually pretty excited about seeing the tracks on Route 32, since it always bothered me that the train seemed to take an invisible path accross the country.

I only just now realized that the people who've been worrying that Kanto might be axed have completely ignored the train. XD

And I'm kinda ticked it's not above ground the whole way until it hits the eastern mountains - if it's supposed to be a high-speed maglev train, it should have roughly the same elevation along the whole track, right? It might be a little distracting seeing it cross the second route, but there's no reason they couldn't have it routed north of Violet.

True. To be honest, I'll take what I can get.

Though... something you'll remember is that now they're implementing sloped terrain, right? Maybe the area to the east of Route 32 is high enough to allow for a tunnel without having the tracks dive underground?

Wow, this might be the first Pokemon game where a topagraphical map might be interesting to look at...

According to the new map it seems like it will pass through areas we can travel on and areas we can't. Seems also likely that Viridian and Celadon will have the tracks.

Makes me wonder if there'll be stops there too. I would make a lot more sense if they did, and seeing sleek, modern train stations in a couple more cities would do a lot to dispel the ravaged feel of gen. II Kanto that people will still have in mind.

That would be potentially great but a fair bit useless. Unless the stops have shops.

I hope that the bridge on the fishing route will be seen. Poor fishermen...

However, the spot where Magnet Train crosses the mountains will probably be unaccessible...

I'm hoping for a really good 3D animation for Magnet Train.

If they show the tracks that pass through routes and other cities (the ones the Magnet Train doesn't stop in) it would give the game a lovely realistic feel in my opinion.

While it would be cool, if you actually got see yourself travel from Goldenrod City to Saffron City. I hope their will be an option so you can skip the long trip. Cause I sure don't want to wait like 2-3 minutes before I can continue playing again. Once is enough, and you could show someone else the long ride but there has to be an option to skip the cutscene.

This is assuming there will be a long cutscene.

Yeah, I guess your right. I mean, who would want to stop at Celedon or Viridian. I mean, all Celedon has is a departments store and a game corner (unless you line in the EU) and Viridian is the gateway to the League. Can't think of why the train would want to stop there.

I could actually see the train going through the department store though...
