I have a water deck, only water, back in the day I used to have anywhere from 25-30 water energies in my deck.

is this a good amount or should it be lower?

This was discussed in this thread before. As it's said there, 20+ Energies is OK for casual play, but far too much for a competitive deck (which have their own engines for finding and recycling Energy).

Sephy pretty much hit it on the head. If you run 25-30 Energies, you'll lose every tournament game you play.

You want to run around 10-15 in most decks. Trainermon are back... the space that used to go to lots of Energies now goes to Trainers, Supporters, and Stadiums to boost consistency, which is something that's vital in today's meta.
