Ok, I've been completely shut down by hail stall teams, so I've decided to make one of my own.

Swampert
Nature: Relaxed
EVs: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA
Item: Leftovers
~ Earthquake
~ Ice Beam
~ Surf
~ Roar

I really like the idea of using this guy as a lead, because I always cringe when one of my opponents sends him out as a lead. I think it will also kind of disguise the fact that this team is hail stall, though my cover will be blown once I send out Abomasnow. But of course, his purpose is to allow sandstorm teams to activate their sandstorm so Abomasnow can switch in and replace it with hail.

Froslass
Nature: Timid
EVs: 32 HP / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Item: Brightpowder
~ Thunder Wave
~ Spikes
~ Substitute
~ Blizzard

Froslass.. What an annoying little ice imp. Substitute on the switch, Thunder Wave to give the opponent a very low chance of getting off an attack, and spikes for the first layer of entry hazard. Blizzard for STAB and if she gets Taunted.

Walrein
Nature: Bold
EVs: 220 HP / 240 Def / 48 Spe
Item: Leftovers
~ Protect
~ Substitute
~ Roar
~ Blizzard

Wow, what a brokenly annoying set. Sub on the switch, protect against the super effective attack to heal, Roar, repeat. Blizzard for STAB and Taunt. Unfortunately he's completely useless with no hail on the field.

Tentacruel
Nature: Calm
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 132 SpD
Item: Leftovers
~ Toxic Spikes
~ Rapid Spin
~ Surf
~ Sludge Bomb

Rapid spin, and second layer of entry hazard. Pretty straightforward, he's supposed to switch in on a special attacker and do his thing.

Abomasnow
Nature: Lonely
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Item: Leftovers
~ Substitute
~ Leech Seed
~ Blizzard
~ Focus Punch

Sub seeder and hail activation. I'm actually going to keep Focus Punch for now because I don't have any other fighting coverage on this team, and I think I could possibly get off a sub punch. I'll see how it works though, and change it accordingly.

Bronzong
Nature: Sassy
IVs: 0 Spe
EVs: 252 HP / 52 Atk / 104 Def / 100 SpD
Item: Occa Berry
~ Earthquake
~ Gyro Ball
~ Hypnosis
~ Stealth Rock

Wall, and third layer of entry hazard. Hypnosis's accuracy is slightly dubious unfortunately. I probably rely on it a little too much to cripple switch ins.

So there you have it. I've had decent success with it on Shoddy, though I haven't played around with it enough to know for sure. Obviously if it were perfect I wouldn't be asking for suggestions.

I just throw this guy out there for the hail. If he survives for a substitute, then I'll leech seed, which is a bonus.

I'd suggest something else then FP, maybe Ice Shard or Seed Bomb for the STAB move or a possible EQ or something. Having that set to lead might not be good because you most likely will be out sped or possibly tricked

This set works the best on Froslass from what I've seen. You might wanna add Shadow Ball in there instead of Spikes but it doesn't matter

:/ Having Blizzard everywhere is tough. You should put Hail somewhere or find a way to keep Obamasnow alive because once Hail goes away, Blizzard will be difficult to land. I've ran Surf on this set instead of Blizzard but I never really like it.

Pretty solid.

Swampert
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 104 HP / 204 Atk / 100 Def / 100 Spe
Item: Choice Band
~ Earthquake
~ Ice Punch
~ Stone Edge
~ Waterfall

Physical attacker. I needed one, and Swampert covers a lot of weaknesses I have.

Not bad.

Haven't seen this around but it doesn't seem bad.

Hmm... not a bad team, but here is a little advice. I suggest changing your lead from Abomasnow to Swampert. One of the biggest threats for a Hail Team is a Sandstorm Team. Since Abomasnow is your lead, it's possible for it to be slow against Tyranitar, which means your Abomasnow's ability will be active during the course of the battle. However, against a Hippowdon, your Abomasnow's ability will be activated first, which means Hippowdon's ability will be active during the course of the battle. Swampert is a good lead against these Pokemon. Swampert is immune to the Sandstorm due its type.

I advise you to run a MixPert, due to Hippowdon and Tyranitar's high defense base stat.

surf rathar than Hydro Pump cuz of the STAB option and higher accuracy
Roar over SR because you got Bronzong to set up SR and he is generally reliable won't get beat down easily
+ roar annoys the hell out of set up pokemon

for example to counter your mass substitute team i'd SR, spike and get like 2-3 roarers on my team and just roar myself to victory

I like these suggestions a lot. Froslass and Walrein are all but completely useless when hail is not on the field. When it is they're spectacular, so I have to make sure it stays there as long as possible.

Swampert is now my lead. I will go with the Roar option and the Surf option since I do prefer accuracy anyway. Bronzong has never failed to get of an SR yet (though he's never been taunted yet..), so that's covered.

I'm glad you like my Bronzong set Insomniac, I actually built that one myself.

Simply for coverage's sake, I recommend putting Surf on Walrein and Shadow Ball on Frostlass over Blizzard. If any of your offensive pokemon know Hidden Power Fire, that might also be useful over Blizzard. Other than that, everything looks pretty solid. :) Good job.

imo, you need an attacker that's immune to hail. best choices for that are weavile/mamoswine. however, since this is a stall team, i guess they aren't necessary.

Hmm.. I actually really liked that CB set on Swampert. The lead is fine, but now I don't have a strong physical attacker, and I don't have a solid switch in for electric and fire. I'm not really sure who to swap out for a new lead though, they all serve a purpose.

one thing i've noticed, noone learns hail, and only abomnasnow activates it. if anyone has a tyranitar or a hippowdon, it'll wreck this team, especially walrein. i'd advise perhaps giving walrein hail? :)

Over what? This is a really difficult one, because I have literally used every single move on every single pokemon on this team. I might have to change my strategy to accommodate these things. That's not bad though, since I haven't exactly had a good run with this team.

mmmm either blizzard or roar, but it's your choice, if hail does stay up enough then you dont neccesarily need it, but a lot of this team doesnt work that well without hail :/

can tentacruel learn hail?

Yes he can. I guess I'll replace toxic spikes since I already have 2 other entry hazards and toxic spikes are easily countered and I have plenty of other status.

If this is a stall team, i would try to find some way to keep toxic spikes. Status stall is extremely easy to pull off compared to without.

How do I stop a sandstorm team with taunt users? Am I just fucked?

keep froslass alive untill you've found the opponents spinner (else all the work was for nothing). Also Froslass like the evasion from Abomasnows hail.

Yes they are.

Now what do I do against a taunting sandstorm team?

Be faster? Idk. Not much you can do after a taunt but switch out. You can use Protect/Detect or something. To stop a sandstorm OHKO Hippowdon and TTar then use Hail. That's all I can come up with.

Ok, here's the specific situation. This guy is setting up a Baton Pass chain. I foiled it a couple times with Roar, but then he finally gets his Tyranitar in, passed a Calm Mind I think. I might have been paralyzed or something, but there was some reason that I couldn't attack on his pass. Well his Tyranitar is in, I have Walrein in who is useless now that the Hail is gone, and he Taunts before I can Roar. Blizzard is useless. I switch to Swampert to try to roar him out, he Dragon Dances on the switch, then Taunts before I can roar. I'm now utterly fucked.

Being faster isn't an option because Roar and Whirlwind have -6 priority.

Maybe this team just isn't that good.
