So do you think the writers were wrong by having chosen Conway over Alan and Holly?

Does anyone find it strange that Ash actually has now only one serious rival (Paul) who had some serious battles against in the Sinnoh saga?

Conway wasn't supposed to be a main rival in the league in the first place.

And since Conway has already had his extra episodes in the Summer Academy, I would much rather have Conway getting replaced by Alan/Holly (who might be a part of Brock's new dream in the same time).

Well preferably they all would have turned up to be preliminary bait. If I had to choose though, Holly. I have never like Alan and Conway got the Summer School arc.

Well, well, yes I rather would like to see Holly instead of Conway that would create an exit for Brock on other hand I think writers have chosen Conway because he is someone that Ash should battle due to his knowledge about Pokemon, strategies and good battling skills, and Ash will certainly benefit from his battle with him.

Holly didn't even mention the league. Why would she be in it?
(Ok, I know Conway didn't, but still!)

I think Jeffrey deserves redemption from the apparent kick off the league, haha.

For Ash, bringing Conway back made much more sense than bringing Holly or Alan. Conway suits perfectly for a league battle, which are supposed to be surprising and challenging for Ash. And at the moment Trick Room is the most challenging situation for Ash I can think off. I've always been sure about Trick Room appearing some day in anime, I'm glad they left it for the league. Trick Room suits perfectly for Conway.

Still I'd love to see Holly again. They really need to bring her for Brock! But whatever writers will bring her back or not, I'm glad writers actually brings some old characters back.

Alan... Oh, that guy... I want Viridian Forest's Samurai back more than him.

I'd like Allan and Leona to appear in the League, but not instead of Conway... Holly could be there too but I'd prefer if they made her a recurring character during DP with some different plot that's connected to Brock
Of course, none of these will appear at the League since we already saw all League characters... at least I can still hope for Holly at the end of DP to take Brock with her

And LOL, are you trying to copy Scott's style of threads/posts? XDDD
It's really funny how we have one user with Scott's Serebii nick/avatar and 32532 users with the Gliscor avatar/sig and Scott title XD
This should be a hint to the mods about how much we all miss Scott... can you imagine it's already about a week without him?!

I like Conway. I like that he was put in instead of Holly.

Believe it or not, Conway has a lot of potential for how they've established him. The fact that they've given him the gimmick of Trick Room is enough to say he could be a challenging opponent, especially for Ash. Unfortunately, I do recognize Ash has won against a LOT of gimmicky trainers before, and as effective as they were, and I'm sure Conway will be as well, this is really nothing Ash can't handle. Then again, I AM talking about the same show that fluctuates the pokemons' power to it's own whims. I don't think we should underestimate him.

I find it a little strange that Conway never got a win... he and Dawn lost to Ash and Paul in the tag tournament and now he'll obviously lose to Ash again
You'd expect at least one win from a strong smart nerd trainer like Conway seems to be... at least he'll probably give us a good battle, the tag tournament already proved he plans his strategy for every battle so he knows what he's doing... and Trick Room will be awesome to see

Conway's personality is way better than Holly's and I don't think anyone really cares about Alan or remembers who he is anyways so yeah.

No. I would quite like to see Holly again, but I like Conway and his stalker-ish tendancies. I also think he makes for the most interesting battle. The use of Trick Room is already interesting me.
I can't remember who Allan is at all.

There should be a super league, where EVERYONE that Ash has ever fought gets together, and they all have a battle with him. None of it is skipped. Nothing is left out. You have to watch every single one of them. The great majority of them would be 3 on 3's, though, and every major rival Ash has had will have a full battle at the end. (Well, that and the elites, if he can even fight them at all)

For those that can't tell, I'm being sarcastic.

Holly didn't seem like she'd be a threat in the league to be honest, and it was never hinted she'd actually be in the league. I mean, her last sentence was something like 'I'm going to be the tag partner Brock deserves', but that doesn't mean WITH Brock. She's just trying to be a better tag battle partner, and that doesn't equal the pokemon league.

Hm.. we'll see. I don't want Allan there, but I'm still hoping for Jeffrey... hahah!

I found the first page of this thread really funny, with the first post being someone with Scott's Serebii nickname and avatar and then about 7 different people with the Gliscor avatar and the Gliscor "bring Scott back" sig and the Scott[year number] title XD
