Ever since the introduction of P-Z, and the fact that we are far removed from the Dennou Senshi debacle now being more than 10 years later, I've been thinking about this.
Maybe perhaps there might be one in the Shinou saga with all three in it. Maybe there probably won't be a policy change anytime soon, seeing as the Barboach/Whiscash episode still has never aired (not even in the US...)

I'm really holding out for one though, but it may just be wishful thinking. Your thoughts?
 
Its been 10 years, maybe they were just waiting until the incident was no longer as prominent.

The Porygon line is in the videogames all the time, I don't see why, 10 years later, they can't make an episode about it.
 
I'd like to say yes. In fact, I'd really really really like to say yes. It is D/P, after all, the 'most suprising' season yet.

But I can't say yes because we all know it won't happen. There's too much of a stigma surrounding that damn virtual bird. The only way I could see one being made is if Porygon-Z didn't enter virtual reality at all.
 
It's too bad, really, that aftre all this time the line still hasn't been showcased. After all, it was Pikachu's Thunderbolt that set off the seizures, not Porygon.
 
Considering that the Japanese goverment banned the episode themselves, I highly doubt that any anime is going to risk using the strobe lighting effects used in the Porygon episode. Let alone the Pokémon episode.

The episode almost got the entire show cancelled. So I doubt that they'll ever revist it.
 
^They've had hundreds of episodes since then without strobe lights; they can easily have a Porygon-line episode without any.

Some other key points in this episode will involve Rocket Gang getting stoned, Hikari losing her maidenhood, Takeshi finally getting with a woman, and Satoshi and Pikachu getting drunk and wrecking up a town.

Porygon will get another episode when Ash permanently adds his Johto starters back onto his team.
 
Porygon is inside the GS ball. Which is in possession of the other two trainers who left Pallet Town.
 
I would settle for a reairing of the first Porygon episode. However, things like that may be hard to forget and I would rather not see Porygon, Porygon 2, or Porygon Z than see them and risk losing the anime. I want to see Porygon and its evolutions, but if the Japanese government still has a problem with it, then I don't care.

I think the ban on Electric Soldier Porygon is stupid if it has been altered to be safe but, then again, I didn't get a seizure from watching it, so I'm really not quailified to say the ban is stupid or not.

That is exactly why Porygon (along with Porygon2 and Porygon-Z for that matter) could use another episode. This is D/P/P after all. The writers still think it was Porygon itself that set off the seizures.

Nah, I wish that they'd get over an event that happened ten years ago. Like Hidaka said, no one died, and though it likely was a panicky moment in somewhere around 500 households (c'mon, not every kid watching would have been an only child, I don't imagine) I can't see why this would bring up fears for anyone besides parents. I smacked my head on the coffee table when I was younger and needed stitches-- you can still see the scar if you look close-- but my parents don't scream in horror any time they see a coffee table. Hell, I begged them to have it whenever I get my own house.

I do wonder, of course. Are any of the 685 kids who had the seizure problem, especially the two who had the worst of it, still into Pokémon, and do any of them contribute over at Pokémon Wiki?
 
The Porygon episode (or to be more accurate, a scene-for-scene remake of it) most deffinatley WILL be shown on American TV someday, probably around 20 years or so from now.

How do I know this?

My lifelong dream is to break into the animation business someday and form my own animation company. One of the projects I have planned is to aquire the dubbing rights for Pokemon from PUSA (much like they aquired it from 4KIDS) and, after that, producing a scene-for-scene remake of it (with all the flashing seizure scenes replaced with something safer, of course). I also plan on producing remakes of the Dratini episode (with the gunplay replaced with something more TV-Y7 friendly) and the Ice Cave episode (using the nonoffensive purple version of Jynx). I also plan on calling the Japanese Producers and begging them to let us dub the Barboach episode. And to top it all off, I will insert 2 new episodes into the series, one taking place during the Johto saga and another taking place in the Diamond-Pearl saga, which will feature Porygon2 and PorygonZ, respectivley.

And yes, I hope to use the old voice actors for this. Look for it sometime during the 2020s.
