NaruTaru is A name I hear tossed around in the anime community. I've heard mixed things about it. Keep in mind that I have ALOT of anime and live action shows to watch. I don't want to invest my time in something that I'll end up regretting. (Not after that Twilight garbage) So, what do you guys think? Worth checking out?

I actually like gratuitous violence. (I laughed at the beheading scene in Gantz. I eat while watching Saw!) There's probably something (else) wrong with my brain.

Well, if nobody's heard of it, then it can't be very good
I guess I'll start watching NGE when I get around to it. That show seems to be getting decent attention.

I've only seen one or so episodes, of which I liked... but yeah, that was the deceptive first few episodes. The people that did watch all of it seemed to really like it, I've heard it described as a Twisted Disturbing version of Pokemon, which probably is enough for a pokemon fan that is in love with gore to try out. (Maybe if you get a chance to watch it for free, I understand the whole time is money concept)

Oh, NaruTaru.

...Well, since you like gratuitous blood, I guess it's okay. :p

Just keep in mind that, no matter how angsty and depressing and gory the anime gets, the manga is worse (better? I guess it all depends on how much you like that kind of stuff), as only half of the manga was ever animated.

It's a depressing, emo, pretentious, contrived, angst-fest and a piece of crap. Just like the author's other work, Bokurano. Basically he likes to write a bunch of kid characters and then castrate, kill, disembowel, rape, decapitate, molest, shoot, and stab them. It's the only thing ever does.

He does it fairly well at that. Having said that though, the anime adaptations of his work have been fair to middling. Still, if the OP likes that kind of stuff, it's worth looking at. I saw it in 2003, so I can barely remember it now.
