So in retrospect, what did Brock do in DP?

With Brock's inclusion in DP raising some eyebrows, (for those of you who were around in the AG era, many of us thought he would be leaving when AG ended), I have to ask, what did Brock do in DP?

- He's had absolutely no changes to his team since 2007. Once he got Croagunk, Sudowoodo and Happiny...his team remained stagnant and unchanged for DP's entire run.

- He's had the least interactions with Dawn of any of the other main girls. Is it sad that I can't think of any meaningful scenes Dawn and Brock shared together, with the exception of explaining Ash's battle strategies? Brock and Dawn had almost no relation this entire arc.

For the good:

- He's had a role in the tag battle arc, against Galactic, and some filler eps like the Miltank cafe and the Electrike/Manectric episode. He also got that Cherubi girl episode.

But honestly I can't think of much else. Croagunk seemed to get more screentime than Brock himself. And yes, I'm counting Croagunk as his own character. If this is Brock's last arc, (although again, knowing the writers it probably won't be), what did he do?

Brock just needs to go home. He's been around for 12 seasons now. Just let him leave. Let's get a new male companion.

Same old shit again.

No, I'm not talking about what Brock done in D/P saga. I'm talking about this thread.

Edit: For the start, teached about Dawn about first aid, which helped Dawn in taking vcare of Mamoswine, which eventaully lead Mamoswine starting to listen to her.

He always commented on battles and stuff(such as Takumi in DP167). He fed Pokémon and did the chores.

He showed his skills to Johanna in Twinleaf arc. He teached Makina how to use Ditto in battles.

He talked with Paul in Aiding the Enemy. He teached some kids about how take care of Pokémon in DP167.

You must be getting forgetful in your old age.

Oh, and if I remember rightly it was Brock himself that convinced Dawn to go ahead, not Ash.

What episode is that from?

DP167. I'm going to go and check on that myself as I don't think that I do remember it correctly.
Edit: Lol, no I didn't :p

Either way, it helps to show that Brock and Dawn aren't fully stale like some believe.

not much. He was pretty much the Uxie character and that's about it for significance.

Actually, He hasn't done anything important in DP :(.One of his most important episodes the previous week one. I feel pity about him xDU He's just a filler main character. Since he got Happiny he hasn't got another Pokemon and apart from against TR or TG, he rarely takes part in battles and he always is ignored. Flitring with girls and cooking is his only two ocupations really.

In my opinion he needs a break, all this years as main character have destroyed his personallity so much and his developement as a Pokemon breed can't give anything more. Just let him left the show and make him to take care of his gym or open a breeding center with a nurse Joy of something xD. Instead of a new girl, producers can put the new boy in Brock's place and bring Misty back again too :(!

And rest of thread will talk about his unusefulness, unnecessariness and people would talk how he needs to get a break, how his jobs cold be done by someone else etc. etc. etc.

Boring. And remember he did got a replacement, Tracey, and most people didn't like him, myself not included.

how his jobs cold be done by someone else etc. etc. etc..

His jobs don't even need to be done by someone else. While they were with tracey, they didn't die of starvation. And when he does the referee in a match, it essentially says that the pokemon is knocked out. Trainers are able to notice that themselves.

Oh yes, teaching something to a CotD is really something essential for the saga plot.

Yeah, but you know, there is still need for a Captain Obvious for animé and viewers, cause this is how animé works.

Oh and how about taking care of injured Pokémon when there is no Pokémon Center, just like what happned in Doc Brock?

No but important to that episode's plot. And still counts as something he has done in this saga.

honestly ash is just lost without Brock, they showed this the first they all split up. and plus i like Brock, even though he didn't do much, he still is the most knowledgeable out of the group, plus can u really blame him? i blame the writers.

personally i don't want dawn or Brock to go, and plus what is so wrong with having 4 traveling companions? they did it in AG, why not in BW?
